gstelmack
Is there support for saving an image as a 256-color / 8-bit BMP? There seemed to be some discussion on this in January 2006 with mention of support coming, but that's all I can find. I'm not sure if I'm missing an option in the UI, or if I will need to write a filetype plugin to allow saving these?
BoltBait
It is not currently possible. Your best bet at the moment is to save as GIF (which will convert the image to 256 color), then use MS Paint to open the GIF and save as BMP. Rick Brewster
This is something that's planned, I just need to find the time to actually implement it. Westrock
I also second this feature...especially the way MS Paint does it where you have like 5 different depth options. Its convient when your working with limited colors and are looking for a certain file size vs picture quality vs compatibilty.
