gstelmack Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Is there support for saving an image as a 256-color / 8-bit BMP? There seemed to be some discussion on this in January 2006 with mention of support coming, but that's all I can find. I'm not sure if I'm missing an option in the UI, or if I will need to write a filetype plugin to allow saving these? Quote
BoltBait Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 It is not currently possible. Your best bet at the moment is to save as GIF (which will convert the image to 256 color), then use MS Paint to open the GIF and save as BMP. Rick Brewster Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 This is something that's planned, I just need to find the time to actually implement it. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Westrock Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I also second this feature...especially the way MS Paint does it where you have like 5 different depth options. Its convient when your working with limited colors and are looking for a certain file size vs picture quality vs compatibilty. Quote
Blooper Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Also very cool for pixel art. Saves you tons of time. Quote http://synthastic.deviantart.com http://soundcloud.com/siderealenterprise Lockerz invites are available, PM me
