Crazy Man Dan
Aww.. And I had this nice explanation all typed up too.. Oh well. To add an image as a layer, you can either import it into an existing image using Layers -> Import from File (will automatically make the collage image larger if the dimensions of the imported image are larger) or open it in Paint.NET, [Ctrl]+[A], [Ctrl]+[C] in the new image, and [Ctrl]+[shift]+[V] in the collage image (will ask you if you want to resize the canvas which is good if your collage image is already the size you need it). This will get the new image on a new layer in your composition image. You can then resize (left-click a nub), reposition (left-click anywhere but a nub), and rotate {right-click anywhere) it using the . Now, if you want the hovering Polaroid effect as in the images you posted, you can use the Outline Object plugin while the Primary color is set to white to add the border, then the Drop Shadow plugin to give it depth. sa729
hey guys i have a new question and i couldnt find the answer with the search function. want me to post the question in this thread or just start a new one? Quote Hey hey hey, what can I say?
Crazy Man Dan
If it's related to this question, you should continue it in here. If it's something completely different, a new thread would be wise. That way, you get a new (descriptive ) thread title to announce your new question, and someone who knows the answer is more likely to stop by. Also, you used the new Google Custom search, right? That one actually finds stuff. sa729
well it has to do with the same subject. im still trying to make one of those images. my only problem is that when I have a background image and I try to add another image on top of that, the background image shrinks and i cant resize it but I can still drag it from the corners and make it bigger but when I do that it gets pixelized and blurry. I wanna' try and add another image to the background without having the background shrink. Quote Hey hey hey, what can I say?
sa729
im still trying to get it right. errrr its not working Quote Hey hey hey, what can I say?
Myrddin
Is the new image bigger than the background one? If it is, then maybe you should resize that one first then copy across to your background image. And yes, 'dragging from the corners' will make it pixelated, there is no escaping that . sa729
Yay a response! Here I'll show you what I am seeing Here is my image after it has been resized to 800x450: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1146/118 ... a737_o.png I want to add another image on top so i import one http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1313/118 ... 5bbc_o.png the resolution of the image im trying to import is bigger than the background. background is 800x450, image im trying to overlay is like 1024 around there http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1259/118 ... 0f5b_o.png here is the image i have overlapped http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1072/118 ... 074f_o.png notice how the original background image has shrinked from 800x450 to something much smaller. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1334/118 ... 5406_o.png what i tried to do was erase the white part so there was just a background to resize the image http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1188/118 ... 8e09_o.png once ive done that i tried to drag from corners, but all i got was a hunk of junk http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1039/118 ... 8e4f_o.png does that help? sa729
still no luck... Quote Hey hey hey, what can I say?
The_Lionhearted
Ah, I think I see your problem. When you add the new picture, it is larger in size than the one you have now. The canvas will expand to fit that new picture that you imported. Your original picture is still 800x450, just you see it smaller because everything is being fit to the window. I was able to do the same thing here. There's two things you can do. One is the way you did it now (import the new one, shrink it down, and then erase all of the white off the old one). The way I would recommend goes like this: 1. Open your second picture on it's own--don't import it into your first picture. 2. Ctrl+A to select all. Ctrl+C to copy. 3. Switch to your first picture and create a new layer. 4. Ctrl+V to paste. You will get a message that asks whether you want to expand the canvas or keep the canvas size. Select "Keep canvas size". 5. Resize second picture to whatever you need. Hope this helps! Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with! P.S. clickable thumbnails would be awesome for your posts (especially the previous one!) Quote My Gallery
sa729
alright it worked but it didnt ask me about fitting to canvas size. anyways it works, thanks By the way, do these boards support dynamic tags? Myrddin
Well, The_Lionhearted got there before me but that is exactly what I would have said, both the fact it is the same size it's just the canvas which was zoomed out to fit it on screen - which is why I asked if the new picture was larger - and the steps taken to counter your problem. As I can't help there, I can help with your [/color] Clickable thumbnail: direct URL to image] Blue colour is for emphasis.
