Imagertech
Hello all, I need an exact resolution of 96.00. When I set the resolution to that and click ok, I double check to make sure it's 96.00 (it is). After saving the file and reopening the resolution is 96.01. The .01 makes a difference in my field of work and it has spent hours of my time trying to figure this out. I am saving an image as a bitmap, and then opening in MS paint to make it a monochrome bitmap (not color). Any suggestions to try or workarounds? BoltBait
I was able to replicate this: 1. Open paint.net 2. Image > Canvas size Verify that the resolution is set to 96.00 dpi. 3. Click OK. 4. Image > Canvas size Verify that the resolution is set to 96.00 dpi. 5. Click Cancel. 6. File > Save as... Save file as png format, for example Blank.png 7. Close paint.net 8. Right-click on Blank.png and "Open with paint.net" 9. Image > Canvas size Notice that the dpi setting is NOT 96.00. Mine turned out to say 95.99. Red ochre
I noticed something similar with the resoloution changing from 96.00 to 95.99 for no obvious reason? I just 'resized' it back to 96.00 but did not notice any change in appearance. I am curious as to the reason too. Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Imagertech
Exactly. The .01 makes a difference in what I'm trying to print. So I need to be able to save at exactly 96.

Rick Brewster
This appears to be a bug in the OS. I don't have a direct workaround, at least not within the confines of Paint.NET -- I'm sure you could use an external metadata editing utility to change it to be what you need. Rick Brewster
I'm talking with some folks at Microsoft about this. Imagertech, what version(s) of Windows are you using? Are you on 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) ?
