Unknown file extension

When you try to delete it, what is the error message that pops up?

If you find it again try right-click and rename before trying to delete it. You might have run into a problem with the .pdnbak bit being interpreted as an unknown extension.

Nope, can't rename them.

Rebooting just to get rid of backup files not a reasonable solution.
