Ego Eram Reputo
Hi Powarlator, Please take the time to read through the Forum Rules. Your post breaks a couple of rules (Thread titles must be descriptive, post in the correct section). Tell you what I'll do. If you promise to read the rules (and abide by them ) I'll move this thread to the Paint.net discussion area and rename it for you. mountnman
this piece seems simple.. there is a background image, a layer was added above it- Render/LightRays was used with a dark blue as one colour, and a bright blue as the other. then the LightRays layer's oppacity is set to a transparent level. then a border was added last http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=4495 Edited August 1, 2011 by mountnman Quote SARCASM- Just one of the many services I offer free to the public. powarlator
How do you make cool borders in that picture? Edited August 2, 2011 by powarlator
mountnman
there are many methods of making metal borders, the tutorials section is chock-full of chrome/gold/grundge metal textures(remember, gold can be black and white adjusted to make silver)... but heres a simple method-- at least its the one i can recall at the moment i am assuming it is an odd shaped picture you want to create. you will need a transparent margine around the picture. if you dont have one, set your secondary colour to full transparent, go to Image/ Canvas size, anchor to the middle and expand the canvas till you have a decent margine -now after you have finished the pic you want to add the border to, flatten the image, set primary colour to somthing other than black, grey,or white( something far different from the colours in you pic works best) then run Object/Outline Object with settings that suit you, use the magic wand to select the border you just made- run conditional hue/saturation adjustment-set hue action to fade verticle and the range 0 to 0 , then use the black and white adjustment and your done... you could use curves to play with the amunt of shine if you want to-see barbieq25s tut on making a jewel http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/13003-evans-effects-v17-december-4-2009/ http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7291 Quote SARCASM- Just one of the many services I offer free to the public.
