slipmagt
Hi, I came across this program though pixelcarart.com. Im having a few problems that I cant seem to find answers for. I am using Withers Interactive Beginner's Guide. I am using a small color chart while changing the color of an image but I cant get it to move. AFAIK I am only using one layer, if I rectangle select the image then try to move it should I use Move Selected Pixels or just Move Selected? I just want to move it to a new part of the picture because I am zoomed in close. How do I drop it back down? I am trying to move the chart to the rear end of the car. Sarkut
Select around your color chart, then press Ctrl + C, and Ctrl +V. Then drag the chart over the left car. Press Ctrl + V again and drag above right car. Now you have a chart over each car. Edit - Didn't read carefully. Just do same but drop chart wherever. Rick Brewster
Should probably try one of these, too. It might make things go a little ... faster. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
slipmagt
Thank you. Is there a way to swap all the colors at once? Im converting a blue car to silver, can I change all one shade of blue to all one shade of the silver?

slipmagt
That thread isnt really what Im trying to do. My image is more pixelated then the one being used. It doesnt work the same, unless I am missing something.
APShredder
Have you tried using Conditional Hue/Saturation? Quote BlendModes Plus | Dissolve | Extract Color
slipmagt
Have you tried using Conditional Hue/Saturation? I have only had the program a few hours and have not messed with any plugins yet, but Ill check that page out. Thank you. Edit: That plugin in a tad bit confusing but Im getting somewhere. Sarkut
If for some reason your finished image has to be limited to a set number of colors, then the recolor tutorial won't do. If a very close approximation is good enough, then the tutorial can be adapted to work with your pixelly car.
slipmagt
This is so much better then MSpaint. I think I am finished. Thank you all for your help. The blue is the start, the silver is the finish.
Sarkut
So, was it Conditional Hue/Saturation that worked for you?
slipmagt
Yeah it did, although I had to go back to the orignial and grab the stuff I wanted in color like the lights. New question, if I wand something and move it, how do I stop the back from being checker board'd?
Sarkut
The checkerboard indicates transparency. When you move something like that it leaves a hole in the image. How to avoid it depends on each individual case. With a white background you can paint over the hole with white.

See [rule=6]Rule #6[/rule] Is that better? Im not really sure what you mean. It's certainly an improvement! Your original question was along the lines of "how to move a recolor chart used in an image". So how about a title that says "How do I move part of an image?". That would tell everone what the problem was. Ego Eram Reputo
But I ask a lot of questions. You do, but unrelated questions should go in a separate post. In asking for specific thread titles we're giving users a way to easily find information - using the title as a way of indexing/searching the forum. Now that I've explained that, please change the title to reflect your original question as has been suggested.
