Here i will show my (hopefully) daily progress. Because i am really new(but a fast learner) i hope to get some feedback and let other people notice my progress.

I am using PDN since 10 September 2009.

I am really new and lots of my images are quite bad, so if you have any comment on how to make something better i would love to hear it, so not something like; "that is bad" or "that looks weird", but something like; "that doesn't look right, try to...." OK.

Oh and EVERYTHING is 100% PDN.

Made it together with my little sister, i wanted to remove the white parts around the star, but she said it looked better with.

Mini tut(star):

Needed: Flames & polygon/stars & object-> outline plugin.(feather=optional)

start with a white background

1.on a new layer(you can name it base) make a shape with the polygon/stars plugin, you can set the scroll bars on anything :AntiAliasingOn: is not needed(i used the 5 corner with depth at max)

2. duplicate the layer.(you can name it blur)

3. use the zoom blur at the new layer.

4. you now have 3 layers, merge them all together, you will have a white background with the original shape and the blurred one.

5. render the flames plugin.

6. select the black lines that remained and delete them, also delete all white.

7. use the object outline plugin to your liking.

Try to feather as much as possible it will give a much better result!

You can also delete the base layer instead of merging it at step 4, you will get that all *gold* lines connect.

Thanks the star is my previous favourite i made, i am putting on a new one now.

Updated it again, if you want to see the new star version check the Stars theme.

i like the smoke, what method did you use? (there are like 8 that i like ). The second star is quite good but its a bit choppy, try using the feather plugin to sort that out

Unfortunatly the smoke is not 100% PDN but still rendered in PDN i used brushes.

And coloured it(to make it not white, grey or black) and then used the conditional hue/saturation on it.

EDIT: Also to give it a glow i first(before colouring) duplicated the layer and used feather on true mode on it and then coloured the lower smoke layer.

I learned it from a tutorial.

That choppy effect on the star is partially caused by feather, quite weird...

And because of the black background you are unable to see the outline around the star.

Well the planets explosion isn't too original there is a tut on how to make similar exploding planets, i just changed a few colours and put my little sisters name in it.
