What is the fastest/simplest way to see a layer's alpha?

Recommended Posts

Do you just mean its Opacity?

This can be viewed by double clicking the layer itself, accessing the Layer Properties menu.

EDIT: And in case you're into hotkeys, F4 would do the trick as well :P

I bet hitting F4 is microseconds faster than double clicking

Alpha Map

The idea for this plugin came when I was messing around with pdn and I realised that you can't see the alpha channel as well as you can see the red, blue and green channel, so I thought that displaying alpha with a black to white gradient would make alpha much easier to see.

Don't mind him. He's just a spammer.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
