Removing image from canvas and saving

Recommended Posts

First post -- I cannot seem to find the answer to this question

I made a button with the plug in provided by a member here -- awesome plug in

Now how do i remove the canvas and save the button alone so i can place on a website -

The button is 125x125 pix with rounded corners so i cannot just crop (i dont think)

Hope i explained right -- here is the link for the image -- I want to remove and save the button

1. Search for "color to alpha" and install the plugin.

2. Create a new layer above the image and use the rounded-rectangle tool to draw a black rectangle covering the white parts inside of it but not the outside.

3. Use the magic wand tool to select the contents of the new rectangle, then delete its layer.

4. Press Ctrl-I.

5. Run the color to alpha plugin.

6. Crop the image to remove the transparent edges and save space.

7. Save as either GIF or PNG.

Another option is this:

http://www.getpaint.net/search.html "alphaspace" A neat little plugin that removes backgrounds!
