Is it the Lego System Font from Dafont.com? I downloaded it and then ran the font installer from the classic view on my control panel (WinXP SP3) . Paint.NET saw the font and I was able to use it.

So is it possible that you have to install the font on your system?

Sounds like the font might not be installed properly.

This tutorial might help with the installation issue: viewtopic.php?p=23856#p23856

This is not the lego system font, I have this showing up in pdn. My issue is with the lego thick font, which is the font lego uses for their product. When using paintstar, it shows up as an optional font, and works perfectly. This is why I thought I properly installed it, and got it off typenow.net. I have installed igloolaser and other fonts which did show up in pdn. I will try hitman x's tutorial to make sure.

I have the same problem with that font. It is installed properly on my system. I wonder if it is due to it not being a "complete" font? Look at the font and then look at another and you'll see a clear difference.

If I'm correctly understanding you, then no. I used to have a font that consisted of only ten characters, which is considerably less than the English alphabet alone without punctuation marks.
