rkade
So, I'm trying to make a logo for a band, just saying the name, and they want a grindcore style text, and I can't find a tutorial on how to make it. Basically what a grindcore style text is, is scribbles, here's an example: http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll30 ... chapel.jpg The part that says Whitechapel is the style, or: http://www.oreltv.ru/forum/photoplog/im ... e_Logo.jpg A text like that. Anyone have any ideas?
survulus
It's all in the font I'm afriad. DAfonts is a good site, check them up, and there's others out there too, there's bound to be one that matches your fancy. Either that or us the splatter plugin but using a font would probably come out better. rkade
I've already checked out Dafont.com, it had one that I kind of liked, but all in all, it wasn't that great when I tested it out. I'll try to use the splatter effect, see how it comes out.
rkade
I'm downloading a few plugins as we I speak. I'll try some out and see how it goes
survulus
I don't think smudge would work, gives to soft a look. Have you checked any other font websites? Quote Check out all my newest stuff on my dA I iz bassist here
rkade
I don't know of any other good font websites other than dafont. I'm messing around with dents, it's pretty cool, but not exactly what I'm looking for.
LFC4EVER
A font is your best bet. Try looking here on dafont: http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=605&nb_ppp=50 Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::.
rkade
Most people are saying those type of logos with scribble font are artwork, and not actual fonts, so I'm not sure I'd be able to find one like it.
rkade
Alright, I was browsing more on dafont, and I found a pretty flippin' sweet font. Haha, it's what I was looking for, but spaced out, so I magic wanded the letters and put the really close together, worked like a charm! someone93
One problem remains...I can't read that! We Move Mountains, is that right? I whould recommend a bit brigter edge (so it's easier to read), but it's up to you. edit: another thing, if you want the edges more antialiased you should skip the magic wand. Just put each letter on a new transparent layer and move them.
rkade
Grindcore text isn't supposed to be legible. Hahah.
Blooper
That's usually done by hand to start with, then vectorized in Illustrator (expensive) or Inkscape (free), and after that, you can add some splatter brushes.
