How do you move plugins to other categories?

Recommended Posts

Hey, so I've had some plugins into paint.net for a while now, and I've been wanting to add more, but last time I did this there was way too many plugins, all creating new categories. I was wondering if there is a way to change the categories in which a plugin is located in. For reference, one of the plugin packs I have installed was the Red Ochre plugin pack, and though I love it, it has a few categories that I never use (such as the "Iterative Lines" category under effects), which I only want around 1-2 plugins in. Is there a way for me to move a plugin from this category to a different one? It seemed that all of the plugins were in a single effects folder, so I was unsure how you could move them around.

  • Hover mouse cursor over the menu entry for the plugin you don't want. The tooltip shows the DLL name (in most, but not all cases).
  • Close PDN.
  • Find the file in Effects and delete it.
  • Restart PDN.
