How to align multiple images equally in paint.net?

I wonder if it is possible to align multiple images equally into the image I'm working on paint.net.

I'm trying to recreate the image below (in the background).

Any comments and step by step guide would be helpful.

It sure is.

 

First resize the individual images to the correct, square size.

Then you can import the individual image into your collage image, as separate layers.

How would I do this in a 1920x1080 image?

An 1920x1080 image is, of course, not square like the example you're recreating. So, you'll have to crop it.
