KrisVDM Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 It seems that when "marching ants" are visible (i.e. a selection border), one CPU is fully utilized. On a hyperhtreading CPU, I see approx. 70% CPU utilization. Is this normal? Quote Kris VandermottenDownload my Paint.NET Effects
LFC4EVER Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 That doesn't happen for me. When i select something, for example square or circular, my CPU usage remains under 10% according to Windows Task Manager. However, when i select something that is a very complicated selection, such as selecting all the noise when adding noise to a plain background, the CPU usage rises to above 90% until de-selected. david.atwell Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Confirmed. It slows down the machine very noticeably when the selection is complicated. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

bernis Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 happens to me too, using latest version, but this was happening with previous versions too not 100%. but it was utilizing a lot of CPU power ... the moment I deselected, it went to normal Quote
