gswa Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) Hello. I love to use Paint.Net. Thanks for developing such a cool application. Yesterday I found that's my recently installed 4.09 (Windows 7 x64) doesn't run anymore (nothing happend when I click on the shortcut), so I decided to reinstall it, Uninstallation went ok. When I tried to install it I've got a program crash message from Windows (see attached screenshot, it's not in English, but it's about 'Windows unable to find a solution bla-bla-bla and closed a program). What can I do to make it work again? Edited February 3, 2016 by gswa Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 You need to clean out the last installation. Go here and read post #2 about the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/ Other forum users have successfully used Revo uninstaller. Once the old installation is removed you should be able to reinstall. Rick Brewster Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 What happens if you install the Visual C++ 2015 runtime? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 There have been some weird issues, like the one you're reporting, which are solved by installing that. Still trying to figure out the precise circumstances which lead to this. What types of Visual Studio apps do you have installed? (like Visual Studio 2013, maybe "Visual Studio Code" does this, etc.) Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
gswa Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Well, I had installed Visual C++ 2015 runtime. No changes. I do not use any of these apps. Can I provide any additional info? Edited February 4, 2016 by gswa Quote
