@ chrisco97 : glad you like it , thanks @ Welsh : the scarf is a mix of Sargon's method and a few additions of my own, the shirt is more traditional methods adapted to suit PDN and the sheriff badge comes from none other than Welsh metal texture, i may change the background at some point , looking forward to starting on the collab mate @ Helen : i don't know if its the same with other art software but PDN seems to work better (for me anyway) if i start with a light base and add shadow rather than dark and add highlight, which is a bit back to front but it works better when using blur to blend and fade @ Sokagirl : always a pleasure to hear from you, one day i will be commenting on your portraits @ Possum : it's thanks to you mate posting Mark's work that the sheriff took shape in the first place, and because of that, if you want i will happily send you the PDN files for the head and body so you can see how it all comes together, it may take a bit of figuring out as i don't type a name for many layers, well what do you expect im (allegedly) an artist not a secretary (no offence meant to secretaries of the world) -

Barbieq & 0(-.-)0 : thanks for the comments @ Trine0 : I'm going to add more into the work, part body, change the background etc. but my weird sense of humour took over and i just thought the expression on his face kind of suited his head floating around on an abstract background with him saying " What the h*** is this, where's ma body ? how did i get here ?" Love the baby Panda, great work -

@ Barbieq : i was trying to give him that look you see in old photographs, where they look suspicious , curious and struggling to keep a straight face all rolled into one sokagirl & chrisco97 : everyone can paint and draw, some do it naturally while others have to learn, even the great artists went to art school -

Barbieq, Possum, Mayor_McSteeze, great work everyone This was inspired by work Possum posted on the Fans site by his cousin Mark and is loosely based around those works and Lonesome Dove, 100%PDN ( small series of WIP's are also posted in my gallery) -

Thanks for the kind comments on the last portrait This latest portrait was inspired by Possum's cousins Mark and is loosely based around his works and the Lonesome Dove series -
Box sketch is great because it looks like it has lots of different textures and its some thing totally different, Blue on Blue i love, the whole picture really appeals to me and the cage is a very sharp piece of 3D work, it looks great

Congrats BabyBlue, well done -
Love the Ghostie one it looks like loads of reflections on the orbs, Engulfed is more like Emitting because it makes me think of an energy source throwing out waves of light and energy

Ok Sokagirl, here is what AFG see's some times i wonder about myself

The lighting effect in the work is  and i love how you have reflected the main image onto the tentacles (i know there not tentacles but i cant think of a more suitable word just now ) it gives it a glass/metallic look, wonderful work

Thanks Oma, i decided as it was the first portrait to stick with tradition and give her hair the next one will get the full AFG 'quirky artistic sense' and a bit more -
Firstly i really like this work, now i don't want to sound all arty farty because i most definitely am not ( I'm the sort of guy who gets asked to leave art shows because they think i have just wandered in off the street to get a free glass of wine and a heat ) but the two words that came to mind when i looked at it were 'anger' and 'frustration', the combination of the dark colours and the main image spiraling into what looks like vortexes makes me think that way, i love looking at work i find thought provoking ( even if it is only by my way of thinking )

@ Oma, Helen and Barbieq : thanks for leaving a comment @ csm725 : this one will probably end up being a portrait only, the next one will be more of a complete work. The face is just about complete, the next stage will be deciding the head covering, it maybe hair or something else -

Great idea, i think the suggestion to turn off specular highlight comes from the fact that it can often give the object a plastic look, once you have the seeds fixed like Welsh suggests it will look great
