  4. Art as art should be, what's in the head goes on the canvas.
  5. Fantastic texture on the ice cubes and the background brings it all to life, also like how you have chosen to change the sky from the normal blue colour , it makes it much more interesting to look at
  6. @ Yellowman: the largest figure is the main one, the others all work of it, the small one are all the same size but the placement gives them the appearance of being varied. @ Welsh: totally agree with the Carlsberg comment, although I am a Guinness man myself. @ Dug: All is well here in the Kingdom of Fife, I'm of too Bulgaria a couple of days after you arrive in God's country
  7. Barbie, Welsh, Helen and Beta0, thanks for the comments, the first one was inspired by this video, "https://www.facebook.com/video/embed?video_id=331012070358567 The second one comes from how we start off with art and progress and learn to express our thoughts and learn the rules of art don't always apply
  8. Found some free time and opened up PDN......... Welcome Rd is a take on some of the places I have found myself over the years and the abstract is just that an abstract of the art journey Is that you a Mod now Barbie
  9. I see the imagination is still firing on all cylinders, your work is always expressive, that's what makes it unique.
  10. Every time I look at your work the first thing I do is smile, it's always bright, colourful and has a 'happy' factor..... Candy House is no exception
  11. Really enjoyed looking at your work, love the textures in 'Stone' and the lighting in 'Hell Comes Softly'
  12. Loneliness is very atmospheric, great choice of colour and perspective
  13. Thank you for the comments on the last work I posted (which was ages ago) so I thought I would post some of the resent works I have been painting.
  14. Chrisco, L3ron, csm725 and Possum : thanks for the comments, posted some new work , thanks to Goonfella for the inspiration behind the Spitfire work and being the author of the cloud tut used , i have also been putting together a tut for the portrait which is here for anyone interested http://pdnfans.freef...added-t716.html the Painting on Easel comes from the small sketch that sits on the easel, the rest is PDN

  16. All great entries so :mtdew: :mtdew: & :pizza: :pizza: for everyone, or :coffee: :coffee: & :cookie: :cookie: if prefered
  17. Rather than limit creativity i would say it promotes it's, by not allowing stocks the onus is on the entrant to use their own imagination and skill rather than that of an other artist. If an entrant finds a stock they would really like to use in a work the focus then shifts to their ability to recreate that stock using the tools available to Paint.net, this in it's self can be of great benefit to the artist/user and the Paint.net community as a whole as new and innovative ways to use the available plugins can be discovered, as witnessed by the many tips , tricks and tutorials that can be found with in the forum. The comment you make is valid, and i fully understand the thinking behind it, however within the confines of this particular competition 'the piper calls the tune' or in other words 'it's Possums game , he makes the rules'
  18. What is abstract ? it's anything you want it to be. This is a painting by Jackson Pollock it's simply called No 5 and painted in 1948 This painting was rumoured to have sold for $ 140,000,000 in 2006
  19. Here is the link to Yellowman's tyre, took a bit of finding but i remembered it was in the realistic thread. http://forums.getpai...post__p__267535
