  1. I agree that this theme is harder than most we've had recently, but we already have 3 published entries so it can't be that hard. _ _ _ I'm also wondering if my signature is eligible.
  2. Ehh what happened to this thread? Not sure which sigs to comment on. The first one: Looks okay overall but the effects are a bit ugly in my opinion, especially on the arm on the left. Also, the dark shape on the right doesn't quite fit there. Second: This one looks very good. I love the smudgy effects and the colors fit well together. Third sig: Not as good as the second sig but still pretty good. Most of the effects look nice, but some could be better. ___________ New sig I made today:
  3. @yy10: It looks pretty good, but i can't see any effects. The render could use better blending. @Brimoth: Nice, creative concept but it lacks polish. If you can make the grass more realistic and make different clouds (not duplicates) it would be much better. Also, it looks like there's a weird outline around the creature.
  4. @Mendo: The background is cool but the render is just slapped on it with no real blending. It also needs more foreground effects. I think it would look pretty nice if you just removed the render. @N3G: Simple but nice. The flow isn't very good though, and the border could be better. The background looks very good. I would cut the black "Made by N3G" bar off it. It's too close to the focal and kinda distracting. I made a new banner for my gallery today. Click here if you'd like to check it out.
  5. Update 2.0! New signature and gallery banner. Link to banner. Old signatures removed, signature space reorganized.
  6. @Blooper: Very nice logo. The Rs are a bit weird but they're readable. @Zieon Eslador: Your grayscale signature is awesome! The concept is original and the abstract and border look good. Your current is nice as well but I think the grayscale one is better. @Bjarni: it looks pretty good, but it would be better without those spikes on the top and bottom. I would use a simple border instead. The background and text are pretty good
  7. Grayscale version of "Barren" (name suggested by Blooper ). Stocks: [link] and a few brushes.
  8. I also love all of your "abstract things" . Good job on your latest pieces, Sokagirl (and on all the other ones too ). You make excellent abstracts.
  9. Thanks for the kind words Thanks. I used this stock and a few brushes.
  10. Nice theme. I will definitely participate. Are you allowed to enter signatures you've already made? I made a sig only three days ago and I'd like to use that one if I can.
  11. Thanks, Blooper. I tried your tip and it worked quite nicely. I think I'll use "Barren". Thanks again.
  12. @Briamoth: First of all, I would use a different border. This one doesn't fit very well. The effects are all right, but I don't think they fit with the render. I don't like the background too much. It looks like clouds. Your current signature is much better, in my opinion. @sokagirl: Very nice sig! I like the fractal-like effects. I suggest blending the render a bit better. It's too dark compared to the rest of the sig. The text also needs some work. I made this today. I have no idea what to call it. Any suggestions? Also, comments would be nice.
  13. Congratulations Massive_frog2, pipp92 and Aislin! Good job everyone who participated.
  14. New stuff: Spidey sig. What do you call a picture that's too big to be an avatar and too small to be a wallpaper? Hmm... A few avatars.
  15. I finished my entry yesterday but didn't have time to post it. And now it's too late Oh, well. I'll participate next time.
  16. First one: The render is very blurred. You want the focal to be sharp and the background blurred. The background color should match the render. The effects are pretty good. The second one is better imo, but you should make the background a little more interesting. The render doesn't really have any flow, and it's poorly cut. I like the colorful effects you used, but the text should be smaller.
  17. Congrats yy10 and Sokagirl! And everyone else who participated. I also found it hard to pick just two to vote for. There were so many great sigs.
  18. The render is too bright and doesn't blend in with the background at all. Change the color of the background so it fits the render (or vice versa). The background looks flat with no depth so the render looks pasted on. There's no real flow. There's too much empty space to the left, in my opinion. I dislike the white pixels around Spidey's bright spots. It's not all bad, though. I like the fractal you put under the text and the background looks pretty good. Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh :?
  19. I like it. Nice colors, and the effects look good. The left side is better, in my opinion. The smudging on the right side looks a bit overdone. The only flaw I see is the blue-green smudge on the far right. It doesn't fit at all. Change it to purple like the rest and it will be much better. Good job.
  20. @pipp92: Nice job. The effects look good but the background could be better. I'm gonna be a bit nitpick-y. I don't think the smudgy things coming from his left shoulder fits there but it looks good nonetheless. I don't like how the lines were cut off on the left side of his head. Try to blur it a bit so it's less visible. The concrete column at the far left kinda annoys me. It doesn't fit there. Other that that, very good.
  21. Nice signatures. I like how you're experimenting with many different effects, but in some of them you use too many effects. You should work on depth and blending. In some of the sigs, like your current one, the render looks like it's pasted on the background. Try to adjust the colors so the render fits the background. Also, some of them have a problem with flow. Search for sig tutorials, you should find some nice ones. I like these two: Keep it up!
