Just so everyone has a chance to get ready for the next round I wanted to take a minute to give you all the theme. The next Photo Manip theme will be "Landscapes". You can modify a regular landscape (useful but boring) or you can create a fictional landscape (creative and humorous) for your entry. Same rules apply as in the current round, so take a moment to refresh your memory if you are not one of the current participants. The next round will start either Wednesday evening or on Thursday (depending on how busy I am at work). Good luck !

We are getting some really great entries posted. This is really exciting ! I'm working on my piece right now and am having a lot of fun with it. I hope all of you will give it a try.

Congratulations winners ! I have made a decisions that may surprise you, but I think it's the only fair thing to do. I really never thought that my entry would win. It's not an original idea. Yes, I made the entire thing from scratch and pre-existing textures I made (wood and metal), but the real originality of the piece belongs to the genius of Dali. I just recreated his piece in my own style. I just wanted to try to do it, and that to me was the goal, not to win the comp. I worked hard on it and was very pleased with the end result and I really appreciate everyone who voted for me, but it's just not, in my mind, deserved. Don't get me wrong, I love it when I win a comp, but in this case I should have made a different original entry and just posted this one in one of the umbrella forums. So, again, thanks to all of you who voted for my piece, I really appreciate it and am very humbled by your appreciation of my artwork. So again, in my mind, the only fair thing to do is to promote all of the entries one place. Winners are.... Tied for 1st place Barbieq and Sarkut Tied for 2nd place Nanettealsop and J.D. Melek Third Place goes to Olav K.M. The consolation prize goes to me. I'm just happy that you all entered. I have to say that your entries are very original and entertaining. Yeah, I use mine as a phone and only get a few calls or text messages per week. I really don't need one. I'm just a gadget geek. I'd love to play around with one, but after the newness wears off, it would be back to being a phone. There are a few people on my forum who actually post there from their Blackberry, Android, or iPhone. That might be fun, but not at the cost for the service. They want an arm and a leg for the 3G service and I need all of my body parts that still work. Seriously though, great job on the image. Very impressive and nominated to the Galleria.

You must post a link to any stock images or parts of images you did not create in Paint.net. Minimum size is 800 X 600. There is no Maximum Size. Special Rule #5. Do not anger the Possum. Submission Rules All images must be POSTED IN THE ENTRY THREAD! DO NOT PM ME WITH YOUR ENTRY! Post your entry and the stocks you use. (Come on, you remember how right?) YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR STOCK IMAGES ! You may post your image on any other website where you are a member (i.e. Deviant Art, PdN Fans Forum, Facebook or any other forum or website NO PLACEHOLDERS! You may NOT, use another program to create parts of your image i.e. Apophysis, Gimp, Incendia, Photoshop, etc. The entirety of your image must be made in Paint.net. I'm not sure I understand why you would want to limit what people can use in this comp? It seems to me that a lot of people like to work on a large canvas. If I limit the size of images they use to create their photo manipulation it would limit and inhibit the final image they want to produce. I don't even have the rules set up yet. Why don't we see what I come up with and how the first round goes. If at that point if it looks like we need to make some restrictions (I don't really like restrictions), we can discuss it then. If you have a specific reason why you think the image size should be limited then I will consider it as I write up the theme and rules for the next round.
