They call vector-like raster images, vexel images.

Well, I guess this would be considered a photo manipulation. My first ever, might I add.

Well, it kind of depends on the angle of the edge being anti-aliased.
Anyways, I'm going to stop hi-jacking your thread with debates about antialiasing plugins, Jake2k.
-
Welcome to the forums! Thats a very nice result you got there.
Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Hmm ... I don't really like feather for Anti-Aliasing (sorry BoltBait, the rest of your plugins are superb though!). I much prefer Basic Antialias since feather usually produces this wierd halo around it. :o

Well, why would you want to use a beta version of Paint.NET when there is an upgrade. I mean, beta versions are glitchy and such, and sometimes aren't compatible with some plug-ins. If you wouldn't want to upgrade, you probably don't even like/use Paint.NET, so it doesn't really matter. It's like saying, I'll use this glitchy prototype instead of this fully tested working product. It just doesn't make sense. Also, updates are most usually released well before the expiry date, so you have a little time.

Well, first you would want to type your text on a New Layer.
Then, go to the Layers menu and click Rotate/Zoom. (Ctrl + Shift + Z for the shortcut)
Then using the ring around the ball at the right, you could adjust the angle of the text.
Hope this helps!

Hmm, Jake2k and I were going to do a collab tut on the glass lettering, since his result was fairly good as well ...
I like the idea though, and he said he was going to wait to "perfect-ify" his technique before writing a tut, so I guess we could write one together.
Also, are you talking about basic reflections and achieving glass? Or specifically glass lettering?
-
Not if I write one first!
That is, if I can remember how exactly I did it in the first place.
-
Ironically, I myself did use a Gaussian Blur to develop the highlights, but I then magic wand'd part of it out to create a nice crisp highlight. You should definitely work at a larger picture size when creating glass letters because you will come out with jaggy edges (like on your 'M'). Nice work!
-
If its criticism you want, its criticism you'll get.
Okay, I'm glad you're venturing into this kind of thing (especially since I'm leading you ).
It looks good, except the reflection/highlights look too blurry. IMO, they should be sharper, like the letters have nice sharp corners. Also, you should try playing with blending modes, like *cough*overlay**cough*.Other than that, nice job!
*My favorite!
On a side note, your sparkles are white in the center and black at the edges! :o

Haha, I thought I recognized that footer ...
Your web design looks very sleek. Keep it up!

Heres my crack at it...

Ack! Jaggy edges! Run! :o

Woot! I'm recommended by Ash!
My crowning achievement!

Please read the rules, your sig can only be 150 pixels tall. That includes if you have more than one signature. Your three signatures right now have a combined height of 302 pixels. Thank you!
Other than that, nice job on the sigs, we hope to see more from you soon.

Bubble in the new one much better
Thank you Ash.
Amazing... You are truly a pdn artist. great work. Thanks jerkfight!
Do you happen to have any tips on how you did PI+/spring? I'm trying to see if I can make something new out of it; it looks awesome. Thanks.Well, PI+ was made using a transparent weave, with 6 polar inversions placed at one of the four corners with the coordinates (+/-0.90, +/-0.90). I just experimented to see what looked good.
Spring was made with Random Dots set at full settings. Then I desaturated it, and ran a PI+ in the top right hand corner. Again with the coordinates (0.90,0.90). I think one of them is negative but I forgot. But it was in the top right hand corner. Then a simple radial gradient in the background, a translucent Light Ray, and some lens flare to top it off.
All my polar inversions were set to Clamp to Edge, for both pieces.
Great job on the new one! Did you set the overall bubble layer to color burn? That's what it looks like to me - anyways - great job on it - very well done 8)Actually, there were 2 layers of cloud set to varying transparencies. One was set to Overlay, the other was set to Reflect to get that shiny white spot on the upper left hand corner. Thanks for the praise.

You're welcome!

Thank you ZizOiz!
The ripples were actually achieved through a different method this time than in my sig, it has much more "glow."
EDIT: Nooooooooo! I just checked out the link, and Photobucket resized my "uncropped unresized" version. So its actually smaller. :x
EDIT 2: Just switched over to a new image host (IMGSync. Up to 5 mb file size!). I'm re-uploading the full uncropped unresized version and adding in the link.

New piece! (see first post)
Energy - an expiredConcept
I normally don't do any photo manipulations and working with stocks, but when I saw this Photoshop tutorial, I couldn't resist. I twisted it a little (okay, a lot), and I came up with this nice picture. Surprisingly, it was only 13 layers, but with a lot of blend modes and clouds. Lots and lots of clouds.
Enjoy!

oh - and Expiration - I wasn't going for a comment when I posted, but thanks anyways. I know that the one with the sun is WAAAY too dark on the left side, I should probably fix it. And the 200TH Post one doesn't make much sense, because ever since I posted it, I have been posting a lot more often (In the 260's now, I think). I'll be changing them in a while. I dunno if I should stay Spacey or move on to something else. I was thinking of doing something like yours - with the photomanip - it looks awesome! (But it wouldnt be very original)
Actually, I wasn't talking about your sig.
I was refering to ZizOiz's sig that you liked; the third one to be exact. Sorry about the mix-up. Although your sig is great too, I've never been really good at spacescapes and the like.
And thanks for the compliment on my sig. (I just redid it at a larger size and am about to upload it to my gallery, it looks much better now IMO; possibly update my sig and avvy too  )
-
I really like your last (current) one, how some lines are thicker than the others, giving a sense of depth.
I also like the one Nab likes too, it looks cool.
-
Yay! That's two other people who have used my PI+ wallpaper!
Thank you very much ZizOiz.
@Jake: Okay then, I'll try to perfectify (<-lol) my glass letters too. Lets see who can make it better.
