Hi Rick, I just noticed that some tools icons show weird shortkeys. See image below. What could be the cause of this? Stephan

Being the informal Dutch translator, I'd like to get in touch with a Dutch user with an NVIDIA graphics adapter installed. There's a new instruction coming up on solving certain issues with Nvidia drivers and I'd like to know whether or not I should translate all of this. Please contact me if you are a Dutch user and you can help me to some screenshots of the Nvidia graphics driver in Dutch.

I've corrected the notification settings in Crowdin. I'm looking out for my first notification email.

Triggered by the remarks coming from some other translators, I decided to check the latest activities in Crowdin. I noticed that some new strings have been introduced and that the automatic translations from Bing have been pushed through. Oh dear, oh dear. MT may be nice with words, but definitely not good with sentences. Rick, I had to make some changes. Could you approve these? And please next time consider to send the Crowdin translators a brief notification that new strings are ready for (proper) translation.

When saving (overwriting) an existing jpg file that resides in a OneDrive managed folder, I get the following error: The first line would translate as follows: An invalid name request has been made. The requested name cannot be obtained at this time. "Save as" using a different file name works without problems. (Currently my workaround) Any ideas?

@Rick Brewster I misread the instructions. I thought that a folder named paint.net App Files would be created (automatically by the App) and that I would have to place my Effects, etc. in there. I've created the folder myself and placed inthere the Effects etc. and all is well now. @warlordnik I purchased paint.net App yesterday from NL without a problem. Do you have a valid credit card associated with your MS account?

Fantastic! I purchased immediately, if only to test the Dutch localisation. Effects seem to not work on my Dutch language W10 PC. The created folder is translated into Dutch language: paint.net gebruikersbestanden. I've copied the folders "Effects" and "FileTypes" in there, but paint.net W10 App does not show the plugins. Also, if I open the Palettes folder, this created folder is named Paletten which is also the Dutch translation. I checked in Crowdin and found the following: - paint.net User Files is translated into paint.net gebruik

Two issues with the Spanish translation

Same here in Dutch language -
I'd like to make a case for an enhanced way of storing and managing plugins. Currently paint.net plugins (v4.0.x) must be downloaded and unpacked in the subfolders Effects, FileTypes ans Shapes within the paint.net installation folder. The fact that this is a manual job is not convenient for those who are less computer savvy The fact that copying files into subfolders of the installation folder requires Administrative rights is a blockade for users living in a restricted computer environment, such as Education or larger companies Of course it would be best if paint.net would have a Plugin

Hello all, In relation to "Image type not recognized" issue, I have come to the conclusion that Rick is rightfully making objections to the debugger image hijack method I mentioned above. I have removed the technical details from my posting above. The best way to have paint.net become the default program for editing images is described in the posting by rpsgc

Okay, my prime concern was with the Dutch translations that are no longer present. Good that you checked yours and also others. They are there still. So Rick, did something occur with the Dutch and French resx files in Crowdin? -

Rick, I noticed that all pdn-translations have disappeared from Crowdin. Do you have an explanation for this? Stephan -
Alternative solution (save the following lines as a *.reg file): Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 REMOVED Whenever mspaint.exe is called, PaintDotNet.exe is actually executed. This trick is used by NotePad2 to replace notepad.exe and also by SysInternals ProcessExplorer to replace the standard Windows Task Manager.

paint.net 4.0.6 is now available!
StephanP replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Rick, Could it be that you forgot to approve (updated) translations? Stephan -
Check the system requirements at http://www.getpaint.net/download.html Your W7HP/SP1 sounds alright. Depending the version of .NET on your system, you may need an update to 4.5, but that will be taken care of automatically during the install.

Aahh, I missed it. I just made a few changes. No worries: Cosmetics only. -
I've tried a number of Screen Capture programs that I use from time to time: Standard Windows [WIN-PrtScn] Window Clippings PicPick GreenShot XnViewMP Screengrab Firefox extension For each, copy-paste worked just fine. As #softlion is mentioning "drag-and-drop", I did some further testing: Firefox - drag-and-drop image works fine Chromium - drag-and-drop does not work Internet Explorer - drag-and-drop does not work Hmmm, what other applications would I want to drag images from.... But should we expect this to work? Isn't it up to the 'drag-from' program to make something available or no

To me, it looks like the copy-paste issue has been properly fixed. I've just tried it on my W8.1 64-bit PC using the latest versions of Chromium, Firefox and Internet Explorer. With each browser I visited a different web site and (obviously) copied a different picture. All copied images pasted [Ctrl-Alt-V] perfectly in today's paint.net.

I've just made one more small correction. Please go ahead with the approval.
