Hmmm..it wouldn't be exacty simple with Paint.NET, or even Paintshop Pro. If you want it as a 2D image, then it might take a while...I suggest going with Frojo's idea. I saw a tutorial on Youtube a couple years back on how to make such a thing with Photoshop, Cinema 4D, and some other program..but I can't seem to find it now.. But I guess it doesn't really matter, because that stuff isn't freeware, and it would take a big bite out of your wallet :shock:

Here is a "rough draft" (far from complete) version of my next sig. I expect to finish it either this month or in October. Right now, it's pretty disgusting, but I'm quite sure I can clean it up by month's end. The part I dislike about it is the metallic ring. I know there is a tutorial-in-a-tutorial for that somwhere... **searches...** I love Mr. Green!

When I do the black part, it looks liek a 3D ball thing. So I cut that part out...
