  1. What exactly is the problem? You didn't state it clearly.
  2. Search for a plugin here that will let you adjust the alpha. It's sounds like it's displaying the image as transparent for some reason. http://www.getpaint.net/search.html Can't say for sure that's the problem, but it's worth trying.
  3. No it's fine. When I didn't receive a response I didn't finish up a sig. Therefore, I look forward to entering the next contest.
  4. Go ahead and put the poll up. Goonfella's been waiting patiently, I will enter the next one.
  5. Good stuff, keep it up! (Especially the space things )
  6. Hey guys, still not dead. I made it through finals week, and then had a few cool days with some friends who were graduating. Now I'm working, but I should still have some time for PdN in the evenings. And I won't let this WIP fester on my computer
  7. Welsh and Axel, thanks! I like my new avy/sig look too, and I'm still quite excited about this latest space work of mine. I just got back from eatser break, but I've got finals coming up next week. We'll see what I can get done this week.
  8. If you don't have a tablet to save your actual signature with, you could use any font you like for your signature.
  9. I've thought about this recently and I think it would be a neat feature. The functionality I'm asking for is a total save of Paint.NET's current status, all images, all layers, and preferably the history as well, to a Paint.NET specific temp folder, where the saved state would be available for reopening the next time Paint.NET is started. Yes, this is very much like the functionality a lot of browsers have been including lately, and I think it would be useful. Now after perusing the FAQ's, I can tell from similar requests that this would probably be a fair bit of work. Well, it's just a request, and I'd like to see if other members of the community are interested too. I hope you consider it for a future version Rick, and thanks for making this awesome free program.
  10. Oh, two more things. I have a new sig and avatar (at last)! And here is the direction I'm thinking about for the space pic now: I'll put a medium sized moon above the Gas Giant, and a large one (as though it is closer) in the dark space to the right of the gas giant. I am trying to decide what to do with the empty space in the top right. Also, I think I'll put some tiny moons traversing the large gaps in the GG's ring. Any thoughts? EDIT: Silly Julio, posting before me. Thanks for the encouragement, the rings are really quite easy to make, want a tut?
  11. I'm loving those abstract thingies. And as for terragen, I used to think I was getting the hang of it, then I went on a space art faving spree on dev art (added like 800 of the best images I could find), and in my exploration I found some guys who made my terragen work look like a sand castle next to a gothic cathedral. Ever since, I've wanted to get better at Terragen, I've just never had the time.
  12. All right, time for a bit of an update. I've inserted the gas planet and designed some rings: Also, I have an alternate color version that I am considering: The original picture is 2400x1500, but I'm not sure how large Photobucket will let me upload. Also, is it just me or has photobucket turned into scene girl heaven since the last time I visited (August)?
  13. I plan to put some real planets in, those are just place holders! Speaking of which, I've got a gas giant I'm fairly satisfied with, and I've located the ancient Rectangular to Polar plugin, which makes creating planet rings almost too easy. So, progress has been made. Thanks Julio for the kind words.
  14. Thank you all, I definitely plan to keep working on this one.
  15. Hey, looky here. That old Sozo guy isn't dead after all. What's more, I have a new WIP for your viewing pleasure. Obviously it's in space. The original picture is much larger too. The black balls are where I'm thinking about putting planets. And as for how I'm making this silly little image, I've mixed pictures of real clouds (the dark parts) with cloud-like things I've made in Paint.NET. I probably won't abandon this one, so stay tuned.
  16. The atmosphere would be more realistic if it matched the lighting of the planet. Make sure the atmosphere is flattened to one layer, then use a black and white gradient in transparency mode to make the atmosphere fade with the lighting.
  17. I imagine it would make for prohibitively large file sizes, as well as all sorts of other possible issues. Just save new copies as you work.
  18. I've been out of town, and just saw the results from one. I'm glad mine cracked some smiles in you guys, those who got the joke anyway.
  19. In the future, make sure that you don't have any selections active in the image, because the eraser will only work within the selection if one is active.
  20. I made an entry, and you all should too.
  21. Thank you all again for commenting! I've decided to rework the main planet, the one whose texture is not completely satisfactory. I'll go about finding some better textures soon. @Lance: I've experimented with Tube Oblique and it may just do the trick. @Falkken, no Australia, but I bet the land down under does have some great texture possibilities.
