  1. Greetings SolaraG. Are you speaking of metadata? The inclusion of additional information about the image, such as date taken/modified, with what model camera, author, bit depth, so on and so forth. Can I also suppose that by 'keywords' you mean the alternate term tags? Certain phrases associated with the image for use with cataloguing and the like. If 'yes' is the answer to one or all, then no, Paint.NET cannot add this information for you. You will have to manually do this via Windows Explorer: find the image/s wherever it may be located (My Documents, My Pictures, etc.), right click the image > Properties > Details tab then edit in the information in the appropriate section. If nothing of the above applies to you, could you be a little more specific with what you mean, please? Perhaps someone else here already knows what you want, or will with more description.
  2. Hello Rage Quan. When you mention 'Pixel Bunneh', can I assume the pixelbunneh.com? The 'templates' that site lays mention to, and distributes PDN files of, do not follow the same principle as Paint.NET plugins, in that you don't have to install them in a folder; here, with these, you simply open them. If the site has claimed otherwise (and I cannot see this), then they are mistaken as Paint.NET does not support templates in the sense you have to install them for it to be used in the program, as you may with other graphic applications. So, just open them up as you would with any other file, and do as you wish with them.
  3. Ordinarily I'm an Esc kind of man, but recently when recommending keyboard shortcuts, I disclose the one shown in the menus of Paint.NET itself and not the 'hidden'* ones. *not so if the user has, for once, read the Help files...
  4. ...and if you want to draw elsewhere, cof125, you will have to null the current selection. You can do this either by the menu command Edit > Deselect or by the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D.
  5. Greetings rctaubert. Do remember to post in the correct section. You have a technical issue to troubleshoot, so the Troubleshooting & Bug Reports section would be the most logical place to post. Once there, somebody will be just around the corner to help you out. See you there! Moved to Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
  6. Now to whip the rug from under your feet... Your topic title breaks [rule=6]Rule 6[/rule] which explains that topic titles must be descriptive. This in order for both the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and more importantly, for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'help!' and 'question!!!!'. Madness it would be. Utter lunacy. Because of this, I'm going to lock your topic. This doesn't stop you from posting again, in fact, we'd be more than happy to extend the hand of help when you need it . Topic locked
  7. Greetings wjt. To answer in order: 1) use the Paint Bucket tool ( :PaintBucketTool: ) with your desired colour as your primary colour, then left-click on the canvas to apply the fill. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A followed by a tap of the Backspace key. 2) Layers menu > Import From File or... File menu > Open Don't forget the Help files might help you, and give you quicker results than posting the question and waiting for someone to answer. You access them via the menu command Help > Help Topics.
  8. The Feather effect is part of BoltBait's plugin pack which is pinned to the Plugins section (meaning that it will always be close to the top of the first page). The Line / Curve tool is explained thoroughly on its Help page. You can access the Help Documents via the menu command Help > Help Topics in Paint.NET.
  9. Hey tinaavis. You can use the Cutting Out Images the Easy Way tutorial to remove the head off one image and paste it onto another background. May I draw your attention to the Search feature of the Forum? You can access this from the top right-hand of the Forum no matter which page you're on. With this, you can search for any key term from any section and have it return your results as either topics or posts. You'd be surprised at what you can get back with queries as simple as 'cutting' or 'heads' as the chances are that someone before you has asked the same question using the same word or phrase. (As you can see from the linked phrases, the Cutting Out tutorial is listed quite highly with both.)
  10. Greetings SakuraMagic. You have two choices to deselect, one being the menu command Edit > Deselect , and the other the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D.
  11. Sometimes attachments in emails - whether embedded within the content or not - can become corrupt. If you could upload the file here on the Forums with the Attachment field below where you type your post, we can have a glance and determine what could be wrong. We cannot promise miracles, though. If the worst comes to the worst, you will have to ask the sender of the email to resend you the file or find another means in which to transfer. (In that respect, you could use an online image-hosting service such as Photobucket, or online media storage services, which includes MediaFire as one example.)
  12. Okay, I can't see how this is related to plugin development. I see this more as a troubleshooting than anything. Moved to Troubleshooting & Bug Reports Before I do move, I must say... ...what a neat idea, oma. So you keep a record of plugins and their release dates?
  13. Hello mcdbaseballer, and a loud welcome to you too. It is strongly advised that you review the Rules, in particular [rule=3]Rule #3[/rule]. As you will read when you click on the link, typing in all capitals is considered rude as this is usually the textual version of raising your voice; you can imagine that we don't want to be shouted at . Because of this, I'm going to lock your topic. This doesn't stop you from posting again, in fact, we'd be more than happy to extend the hand of help when you need it. And speaking of help, you will want to read number 1 of the following tutorial as this will answer your plea: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6270 Topic locked
  14. On the exposed part, do you see a white canvas or a chequerboard pattern?
  15. The faults keep piling up... I'm glad I did include the PDN therefore anyone can download and modify as they see fit. You could say I was a starting point for people wanting to try this out - a stepping stone, even.
  16. From the onset I'm must apologise as I'm exhausted and tired so there won't be usual, long description accompanying this, and the end product may need some tweaking at your end or by others. (In fact, looking at it now, it looks truly awful; I highly recommend you edit this further yourself.) Right, the sequence is as follows: before, after, link to the PDN file... http://www.mediafire.com/?ddi19yco2n0 (Cripes, have you seen the transition between the two hair styles?! What was I thinking?) The process: - I used sections from the cabinet face to replace the non-existent one (removing some features so to appear individual); - a combination of segments from the hair and face to reconstruct what is missing; - add to that parts of other people's hair, edited accordingly (Image 1, Image 2 (I don't know who these people are, nor care)); - transparent gradients, blend modes and layer opacity to finish off, plus the usual photo editing stuff such as Levels, Curves, so on and so forth. Have fun. All the layers are named so you can play to your heart's content without confusion. It should be noted that the the choosing of Images 1 and 2 had no bearing on what character I thought the orange-topped lady is, purely selected for hair style.
  17. Hello teezyxbad. We need a little more information if we are to help you effectively. Could you list the plugins you have tried to install, please? Some require two files installed to the Effects folder to properly work. Could you describe what you have done so far? Sometimes it can be the smallest detail that's the bane of the installation, such as unblocking a DLL, placing it in the right folder (effects into Effect, file types into File Types folder), or restarting Paint.NET. If we know what you have done, we know what's amiss. We aren't psychic just yet! If you can provide more details, that would be great. Thanks .
  18. Then there are resources available for them to further develop their sepia skills. But when you start saying... ...it makes it seems as though your request, your opinion, is based on the fact you don't like the products created by 'n00bs' with Sepia, therefore it must change to suit you.If you had said that an advancement to Sepia would benefit new users, then that would be a completely innocent idea. Asking for something because you don't agree with its use: no, sounds like you have a personal issue that needs dealing with. With all that said, I don't disagree with you that a few more options in Sepia would not go a miss.
  19. Why are you bothered by this? If they can't go beyond the simple, even with a tutorial, then it is their choice, their doing. You want to remove/modify to your liking a damn good effect because you don't want to see 'n00bs' using it? Hmm, in which case, Rick, could you remove Polar Inversion, please? There we are, I think BoltBait should be ecstatic now... Actually, whilst here, Tile Reflection and Twist as well, Rick. Many thanks. N00bs think all they need is Twist to make a signature look cool... I think it customary about now to roll my eyes when someone's opinion doesn't fit quite right? EDIT: to request an effect advanced in its function has nothing wrong with it, what is is when you pin the fault on so-called 'n00bs'.
  20. You could, ebrid001, try the Help Documents. Whilst these are not tutorials per se, they do detail the most basic functions of each feature, and they are organised in such a way that you don't have to troll through bits that aren't important to you (the left-hand menu or the search box if you can't locate something). So, for instance, you need to help with layers, there is a page that tells you what they are, how they work and what they do, all in one place: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/LayersWindow.html If the files don't answer all your questions, or you need to see something in action with a working example, then the Tutorials section should be your next stop. With layers in particular, you will find that the majority of the tutorials will feature something of layers, bet it a blend mode, opacity adjustment or layering one image atop another.
  21. As a quick 'for your information', you have no need to worry on that front, we have users with a font count exceeding 7,000 and are still healthily running Paint.NET - that doesn't mean they won't have a small performance drag, though.
  22. Perfectly correct. These Forums are primarily a support forum whereby you can receive help for technical issues for Paint.NET, or towards the art created with Paint.NET - however, not to have the finished product handed to you .We always advise users to try it themselves first (as oma directed). If you choose otherwise, then there are other graphic forums on the Internet which either cater specifically for such requests, or have sections dedicated to these requests. A quick Google search would provide some good examples. Now, don't be despondent as there are two things you should know before walking away: 1) you're more than welcome to post again and we'd be happy to help you out, this doesn't mean you can't (we will not black-list you or think badly of you); and 2) follow oma's advice - it's fantastic... Love to hear from you soon .
