Use text to "erase" part of image?

That was quick! So close to perfect. I need both bold font and more... normal(?) text spacing. I'll fiddle around tomorrow and see if I can make this plugin work for me, but coming from 1AM zombie-me, this is a no-go. Thanks, bud.

You can also type your text the way you want it on a separate layer, then copy it and use Alpha mask to cut out the text on the original image.

If you want to type text that erases, use a transparent color and use the Overwrite blending mode in the toolbar.
