"Not enough memory to load image" while scanning

Recommended Posts

I just recently installed vista, which replaced xp.

I downloaded all the necessary drivers for my computer (including my printer/scanner).

One day, I was scanning a picture using paint.net, but it gave me this message : "Not enough memory to load image".

thats silly. I had scanned tons of pics using paint.net before, and i never got this message (using xp).

I have 2GB of ram and dual core processor.

I'm guessing this is a vista bug. I hope you guys fix it! Here's the log:

@Rick: Cannot you add file size, height and width of the image and such in the crashlog?

Just a thought.

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*ā€”just like thatā€”he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

Perhaps the settings are different now and you are scanning at a much higher resolution?

Just a guess...

how do i change the resolution?

(sorry for stupid question)

Not a stupid question at all. I just don't know the answer. Each scanner is different.

Have you considered the fact that Vista uses like twice the ram as XP. I know, "But, it's so pretty!".

Your statement belies a misunderstanding of how Vista manages memory, and is completely off topic. http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000688.html
