Anonymous
I saved my old artwork i made yesterday on an older patch of paint.net. I saved the file as a .pdn and installed the latest update to paint.net. I now cannot open the file on paint.net or any other image viewing software as they do not recognize the .pdn file format. Here is the error details: System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid. at System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(Stream stream, Boolean useEmbeddedColorManagement, Boolean validateImageData) at PaintDotNet.Data.JpegFileType.OnLoad(Stream input) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\PaintDotNet\Data\JpegFileType.cs:line 78 at PaintDotNet.FileType.Load(Stream input) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Data\FileType.cs:line 477 at PaintDotNet.Functional.Func.Eval[T1,TRet](Func`2 f, T1 arg1) in d:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Base\Functional\Func.cs:line
Ego Eram Reputo
Check the file name and extension carefully. I suspect you may have appended a .jpg extension. Feel free to upload the file if my hunch is incorrect. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
midora
It looks like that Paint.NET tries to load the file as JPG and not as PDN. If the file has the extension .jpg then rename it to .pdn and try again.
Anonymous
Yes, i've looked and it does have the .jpg extension, so how do i change this? I cannot upload the file as it is too large Edited December 18, 2014 by Anonymous
midora
Right-click the file in explorer to open the context menu and select Rename. Then change .jpg to .pdn in the name.
