text on a bezier curve

Recommended Posts

I have searched, googled and tried to figure it out. There has to be an easy way

I am simply trying to draw a bezier curve and have a line of text follow it. I had no idea how challenging it would be.

Feel free to yell at me if it has already been explained, as long as you point me to it, My googlefoo let me down.

Hello.
For curved texts I make them with Microsoft Word (WordArt) once finished I copy the image and the amount in the corresponding layer.

I would not recommend the microsoft word technique..

Instead, download Circle Text from this pack and change the Angle of Arc to 180.00.

Changing the 'Angle of Start' to either -80.00 or +100.00 will make the text arc or dip respectively. From here, you can just use the move selected pixels tool (M) to stretch or compact the layer.

Those plugins ^^ are great - there's one for spirals in there too!

Another way would be to use the 'Gravity' plugin.http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7968
1. Text on a solid white layer (normally a no no!)
2. Draw Bezier curve lower down on the canvas
3. Select the area below the line, then move the selection slightly up to include the line you have drawn.
4. Delete these - leaving a chequerboard background.

5. Run 'Gravity' plugin.
6. You will probably need to clean up the antialiasing around the text - I would simply delete the background and run the AAAssistant plugin.
