SailorMusic Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Well, I do a lot of digital art. Actually, I usually just color lineart. I was wondering how to do shading. Here's an example of my work. As you can see, there is no shading. Why? Because I am a high school freshman and have not been educated in shading. Please, help me to learn of this important part of art. Quote 악 실. 실. 악 의 실.

Tarat Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I couldn't find any shading tuts on here(Someone can correct me if I missed one) What you can do go to dA and search for "shading tutorials" That should give you some good reference points to start at. Quote
SailorMusic Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Hmm, I'm looking for more of anime shading. Quote 악 실. 실. 악 의 실.
Sfifer Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 This is for Photoshop, but it may help you a little. http://www.questionablecontent.net/tutorial.php Quote Blog Twitter My Gallery
pdnnoob Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 since anime shading tends to be less blurry and more defined, just add a new layer and set the opacity to around 30-100 and draw black areas where you want the shading. Using the line tool will help you a great deal. Don't bother staying in the lines because, when you are done, you can go back to your picture and use the magic wand to select everything outside the lines, then go back to the shading layer and hit delete.
