File Types?

Does Paint.net plan on making itself available to open and edit RAW/NEF files types? If so when? I do apologize if the question has been asked before BUT after of two hours of searching I just thought I would register an account and ask

Hi Spirit, welcome to the forum.

At the moment, Paint.Net does not natively support RAW/NEF files. There are at least four third party plugins that do add this support to varying degrees. These plugins seem to work in some (but not all) situations.

You can find a list of plugins in my signature (Plugin Index). In order of release, the earliest was RawLoader, followed by RawReader, RAW File and Raw Load v1.0. The latter plugin has had some success loading NEF files according to some of the later posts in that thread.

So far as I can tell from skimming the thread, the only one claiming

success at loading NEF files is the author of the donation-ware codec.
