mados123
Hi guys. I have a question for anyone with special know how. I am trying to optimize an image grab from a video taken with a flexible, fiber optic endoscope. As you can see, there is a comb effect that is essentially the spacing between the fibers at the end of the fiber optic bundle. Higher end fiberscopes have a greater number of fibers, thereby decreasing the spacing (black comb effect). Within Photoshop, I applied color correction and a box blur effect to the seen attachment and got somewhat of a better picture but I am looking to use Paint.net and one or some effects that can remove the mesh, maintain/improve sharpness, color correct it and hopefully have it automated somehow. Any creative ideas how to accomplish this? With great appreciation for your time, mados123 Edited October 16, 2010 by mados123

Excellent, Sarkut! I will play around with it more to see if I can get the edges to pop/be sharper (any suggestions are welcome). Have you heard of any ways to have a script applied via command, outside of paint.net? Say, right click in Windows Explorer, apply script or something like that? Cheers! mados123

mados123
Sarkut, Any reason or recommendation on how to have Paint.NET's auto levels output achieve the same results as Picasa's and Photoshop's auto color? Does auto levels do something different than auto color or are they the same? If not, is there a more accurate "auto color" plugin? Lastly, is there an auto contrast equivalence? Attached are the examples of the differences. Thank you so much, mados123 Attachments, left to right No auto adjust | paint.NET auto-levels | Photoshop auto color | Picasa auto color Edited October 27, 2010 by mados123
Sarkut
There may be a better "auto color" plugin, perhaps another forum member will know. Is the color correction needed much the same in all of the images? If that is the case, then you could make a custom correction using Levels and Brightness / Contrast. It could be run through ScriptLab and saved as an.sls file for continued re-use.
