csm725
RAM is what matters, not video card (IIRC). csm725
http://forums.getpai...?showtopic=8606 To open a 126K x 42K 1-layered image, you will need A LOT of RAM. 64-bit should solve it xD Edited September 17, 2010 by csm725 Quote My deviantART | Sig Battles | My Tutorials | csm725.com Click to enter or vote in the official Paint.NET competitions! pyrochild
Why do you need to open a 126,000x42,000 image? You'd need 60GB of RAM just to hold that image in memory. Somehow, I doubt your motherboard supports that. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! TXRelitter
i am a real estate agent... sometimes i want to make a banner... 10 feet by 30 feet... not too often though!..
pyrochild
A large banner does not need anywhere near 350 DPI, unless you intend people to stand within about 10 inches of it. IIRC so don't quote me on it. Quote My deviantART | Sig Battles | My Tutorials | csm725.com Click to enter or vote in the official Paint.NET competitions! Windows 7, depending on edition, supports up to 192GB. Windows Server can have 2TB. x64 can theoretically address up to 16EB, though current processors only use 48 bits to address up to 256TB. pyrochild
Anyway and on-topic, for a large banner I think 32 DPI ought to be enough. For a 30x10' banner, that works out to 11520x3840px. I don't know how you plan on printing this though... Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! LFC4EVER
126,000 x42,000 pixels, whoa. Thats 5300 MegaPixels lol. I doubt you need such a high resolution for a 30x10ft banner, unless you need it printed an exquisite detail. I think that a smaller canvas size would work, but if you up the dpi, then you could probably get away with working at smaller sizes. I'm not too sure though, i don't print much of the stuff i do on PDN. Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::.
