flip
Could we make it higher? Right now the limit is five. If not, I have an idea. If you have over 100 posts or something, you are allowed more urls because you are not a spammer or anything bad. Quote Gallery
Simon Brown
Have you considered simply linking to a web-page of related links?
flip
Yes, but I'd rather have a lot of links. I don't know why, I just like it that way. Quote Gallery
Urnemanden
Well, I like the idea about the ranking, but won't so-called spammers have more posts than the efficent ones who is writing more deep posts? Quote About - Website
Simon Brown
To be honest, I don't see how having more links can make a signature more obnoxious than one huge one.
epic epiphany
Honestly, I think it's more about what the site can handle than spammers or being annoying.... Simon Brown
If that was the case then surely there'd be a limit to the number of, say, tags, given that they both map to HTML tags? ^ My 20p.
epic epiphany
Links go off site... they most likely carry more information than a bold. Simon Brown
When you use a tag: Hello World it is translated to the HTML Hello World With links: Unlazy Yourself! is translated to the HTML Unlazy Yourself! Rick Brewster
I don't see why you'd need more links. It's just a forum signature. pyrochild
Signature block URL limits exist for the same reason as image size limits. Too many and it just gets obnoxious and distracting. Your signature exists to give some background information about who you are, not to serve as your own personal advertising space. Leif
Signature block URL limits exist for the same reason as image size limits. Too many and it just gets obnoxious and distracting. Your signature exists to give some background information about who you are, not to serve as your own personal advertising space. That just about summons it up. Remember that some people enter this forum with no previous experience in reading a forum. This forum needs to be easily read. To many links and pictures clutters things up. Some forums have an option that only displays a member’s signature once on each page. That actually makes it more readable.
