Suggestion: Backup forum

Given the amount of downtime recently I suggest having a backup forum on either GP.N or another forumer server that could be used when this forum is down.

No. Then we'd have to merge the forum back when the original came back up, or people would continue posting at the backup forum, and then if it went down we'd want a backup-backup forum, etc. Doesn't make sense to do that. Forums have down time, we just have to deal with it.

It seems a pity to only use it when this forum is down though. It deserves better.

I agree with Rick though. Once you start backing up where do you stop?

The backup forum could be locked when the normal forum is not down and threads/posts could be re-created by their creators in the new forum simply linking to them.

It would (probably) be much less likely for both forums to go down simultaneously.
