HenryH
(Newbie Questions) 1. When people talk about [Blurring an image], they usually mean Gaussian Blur? 2. What does [True Blur] do? -- (is the name appropriate?) -- is there another feature(plugin) with the name [True ....] ? 3. Has this been implemented? --> (Unweighted - Averaging Blur)
Pixey
This should help you understand what Blur can accomplish: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/EffectsBlursMenu.html 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. In a simpler form (without the gamma adjustments), it was previously caller Unfocus, or something like that.
frio
1. Probably, it's the everyday built-in go-to blur, no plugins required and works for most situations. 2. Only the plugin author could tell what they mean by True Blur, but they didn't really specify. 3. There's several flavors of Average Blur: ReMake's, Cookie's and KrisVDM's

Gaussian blurs are more or less the standard blur, and most likely the one people have in mind when they talk about blurring, without any other qualification. True Blur is Ed Havey's attempt to produce an improved version of Gaussian Blur. Keep in mind that the built-in Gaussian Blur has been improved since True Blur was written, so it may include many of True Blur's features. For instance, the current Gaussian Blur allows fractional radii, while the original did not.
MJW
EDITED: Sorry. This was an attempt to edit the above comment. Instead, I must have accidentally replied to it. My excuse is I was working on something else at the time, and unlike most people, I can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
