  1. i aways use photobucket, which it seems that tinypic is a part of.. when you click the "share" tab it opens up multiple options, including a basic link, the img code, and a clickable thumbnail(my fave)
  2. hmmm, i dont know. i select run, then extract to the effects folder and it shows up on the effects menu...you could try just downloading the hexa grid http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/HexaGrid.zip you DID close Paint.net before you downloaded it, yes?
  3. use the line/curve tool... shortcut is the o as for the paper- run the Hexagonal grid plugin with all either all three draw mode top, or all three draw mode bottom boxes checked [/url]http://forums.getpai...ted-2011-04-17/
  4. when i use my old comp that cant handle the strain, i often work on the individual components of a work in different pics, the copy/paste them together only in the final step
  5. lol, they vary so much. i make mine to 1440x900, because thats what my 19" widescreen uses. 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x768, 1280x960, and 1280x1024 are also listed as optional sizes for screen resolution on my computer. but you dont have to stick to those sizes. anything near them will work. wallpapers can be centered and/or strecthed, among other options. the main point of this rule is to make sure entries are large enough and shaped to fit a screen, else you would have some joker turning in a banner or such, i.e. 600x2400. or turning in something too small.
  6. dropshadow- effects>objectt> dropshadow http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=8375
  7. that blasted outline is a scourge to all, and i know of no selection tool that can handle the job. however, hope is not lost! the feather effect is here to save you. cunning use of this miracle of PDN will fade those edges perfectly. and dont forget feathers best friend- AAs assistant. when these two team up the results are astounding. (please forgive the style of this answer--- im in a mood ) http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=8318 http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=5610
  8. vinyl cutter? maybe you should explain what that is and what you hope to do
  9. i have done similar printing in the past (made a 2' x 3' poster for bible school actually) but that was from the lexmark software. i dont see anything like that in the options for PDN
  10. its actually a simple opperation..more so if they are all the same size orriginally two ways to do it, copy/paste and import.(others may have a better way) to copy/paste - open all six images in PDN. take the one you want left most and go to canvas size(under the image tab) anchor the image left and expand the canvas to a large enough size to fit all images-- if the images are 5" wide make the canvas size 30" wide, then copy the next image and paste it into the first- it will come up with the move selected pixels tool active. simply use the arrow keys or the mouse to move the image to the right until it is where you want it, then deselect (ctrl-d) and copy/paste the next pic.. continueing until all are there to import open the first, expand the canvas size the same and then import the other pics in order- the import wil open each pic in a different layer, and can be found under the layer tab - import from file. you will need to flatten the image when your done
  11. fonts are not actually a part of PDN. it uses the fonts already installed on your computer. what you will have to do if find the file(s) for the font and install it on your comp. this is doine differently, depending on what version windows you have. with windows 7/vissta all you should have to do is right click on the font file the click "install", if your running XP, you will need to manualy place the file in the font folder- C:/Windows/Fonts now all you need to do is find a free download for this font.. gl
  12. if youre going to tape it together, why not manually divide it into sections and print each section seperately?
  13. simple, effective, sweet. played around with it, adjusted brightness/contrast then auto level and came up with a nice black denim. added sepia to that and have burlap. with a little experimenting this could do just about any weave fabric
  14. going to hue/saturation in adjustments and only changing the saturation slider to max will thicken it as well
  15. oh, and please post the pic. its hard to advise without it
  16. 1. everytime you added text it would make a new layer and name it after the text? and when i wanted this text added to a preexisting layer and keep it named whatever i have chosen? its simple enough to create a new layer before adding text then change the name of the layer 2. may be possible but i dont think so.. this being an image editor and the text feature is realy just another form of image- not a text editor. if the text is on its own layer or even part of another layer that is several images on a transparent background, its easy enough to delete it and replace using the selection tools 3. changing the colour of the text IS already very simple and easy. simply select the text and use any one of the colour changing features in PDN, and we have lots of them: color tint, color filter, conditional hue/saturation, curves, curves+, color balance, color balance+, color mixer,Hue/saturation, hue/saturation+, ect., ect., ect, ect-- you get the point
  17. always best to give us an image to see exactly what you are talking about.. can you post one for us?
  18. .jpeg vs. .png jpeg images are lossy-- this means they "lose" details. the jpeg format was designed to lose any details that the designers decided the human eye couldnt detect(if i understand things right) png images are lossless-- the "lose" nothing. every single pixel is saved at the colour it orriginally was think of it like this- jpeg is the old standard tv, and png is a nice new hi-def tv now on a side note- if you download a jpeg file and save it as png, it will still have the jpeg's detail lvl. most people relize this without being told, but... anyway you should still save more details that way when resized i would use the png for anything that wasnt file size restrictive one thing i have to ask.. you DO have a HD monitor, right? lcd? not sure how much of a png's detail would come across one that wasnt as for why the 72 dpi being clearer.. i have no idea. one of the more tech savy people here will have to adress that
  19. first, iv got to come up with a working idea... discarded several already. still iv got a while...been working on my understanding of the use of displacement... maybe a route..................
  20. im actually working on a submision for the SAC awards but its taking me way longer than i thought.. getting too involved in it
  21. i made this set a while ago. there are realy only four feathers in it, but by duplicating and rearanging i made one side of the set then mirror imaged it to get the second side
  22. welshblues way is better- but to explain myself, this is a quick mock up and the shadows are off, but i think you can see the theory behind it. i used rectangle select and cut to trim the joints
  23. feather and AA assistant http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/8318-boltbaits-plugin-pack-updated-july-15-2010/ http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=5610
