  1. Personally, I don't like how Photoshop remembers changed settings when a new session is starts...that always seems to mess me up =/ ........Just give me default and let me figure it out...lol As pdnnoob said, you may be able to write the plugin with your preferred defaults and give it a different name (Drop Shadow1, Drop Shadow2, etc) and just have multiple plugs of basically the same use...It'd get messy, but it would solve your problem
  2. As far as I understand, constructive criticism is very welcome...as long as it isn't done in a bashing manner...=) As for the stickiness, that would still mean that all the plugin writers, as well as the dev team would have to do major overhauls to "fix" something that is at most a minor annoyance. I've tried to learn how to write plugins. Just putting a "dot at center" is confusing enough. Some of the writers have 20+ programs...If they all had to go through and add in a few lines of code here and there, that would add up fast, taking time away from their lives and taking time away that could be better spent adding in new features that the majority of users are crying for (like tablet support hinthint) ...Bottom line, I although it could be a useful feature, the time it would take to change everything doesn't really (IMHO) equal the usefulness of the feature. Just move your box over. I do
  3. That turned out really good, Kayreeed =)
  4. You'll never get better if you don't try challenging things. =) I'm in physical therapy for a broken leg and they have me lift heavy weights. Is it easy? No. It would be easier to lift a lighter weight, BUT a lighter weight won't rebuild the muscle I've lost. Bottom line, you've got to try new, harder things to get any better. Try Oma's tut. if you have problems, post on that thread and someone will help you. =)
  5. Add a new layer on top of one of your images and copy/paste the other image on top
  6. My bad, I probably misunderstood what you were trying to do...Good luck though!
  7. Just google/bing/yahoo/whatever "inkscape tutorials" and you should find some websites with people more versed in it than us =) Good luck ^_^
  8. Try this tut, this one, or this one. They are in the tutorial section. There's also a plethora of useful tutorials in the tut section created by our wonderful users ^_^
  9. You could try using the Rotate/Zoom function in the Layers menu.
  10. And you also make nifty sigs =D My current is a picture of my wrecked car. lol
  11. No problem =) I've been on my soapbox all day for one reason or another and I'm very quick to defend people who have been wronged. If I need to lay off, just say it. lol Still, there was no reason for frandaman to act like that. I suspect he was a troll, but I couldn't help it. I can't stand it when people attack others and don't have legit reasons to back them up. I'm just going to leave it at that. I'm not afraid to call people out, but I don't want to start a flame war or anything. We need new users to feel welcomed and feel that they are in a community where they can learn and enhance their PDN skills. Not somewhere where they are afraid to ask questions for fear of being ridiculed. =)
  12. I think this is a very straightforward and well thought out tut. If you have problems following this one then try some easier ones, gain some skill, and come back to this later =) Also, what is the problem with abbreviating the short cuts? It teaches those who don't know quicker ways to accomplish something. Besides, only Steps 6&8 had shortcuts. If you want to complain, that's your right. Just please don't complain needlessly, and give a reason for your complaint. Don't just bash something without a legit reason. On another note, if you have a problem completing a tut, you can post on it's thread and ask for help. Someone will step up and give you an answer =)
  13. Stone85: 2 NOOBz: 0 I agree with Chrisco97
  14. You add in the picture during step 6
  15. I'm afraid I don't understand. Do you mean my avatar personally? Or the one shown on this tut?
  16. flatten everything select the button copy(Ctrl+C) paste onto new layer flip vertical(under the layers tab) select the object(Ctrl+A) and move it lower than the first button using the "Move selected pixels" tool Select the "gradient" tool and switch it from "Color mode" to "Transparency mode" This is beside where you choose the gradient shape. Color looks like a color wheel, whereas Transparency looks kinda like a blank canvas. Make your gradient so that part of the reflection has disappeared and Viola! You could also add a bit of ripple to make it look like water.
  17. Or that. ...And it requires less downloading...lol...(CustomBrushesMini is still a good plugin to have though:D)
  18. Hm...It's a small picture and I can't see well, but IMHO, it looks as if the stars are photoshop brushes. For that, you'll need "Custom Brushes Mini" and this program(to open the brushes)...You can download them from a bunch of places...Personally, I use deviantart. You can search around and find similar brushes. Although...it's possible to get a similar effect with pyrochild's "Random Shape Fill"
  19. Try playing around with Luminosity(in Curves), or Levels, with the washed out person selected.
  20. No problem. =) Although PDN is easy to learn, it does have a bit of a learning curve... The links I posted should be of some help, but also look at the other tuts in the "Newbie Playground". They're all very helpful. The tut about layers may help you out if you're just starting out. The Exploding Planet picture you posted is actually very easy to make by following the tut and you could learn, and become better at the program by making your own background instead of using one that someone else made =D And you could also get the colors closer to the school's colors =) Good luck!
  21. Here's a link for cutting out images: And one for how to install plugins:
  22. You may be able to get the same effect using "Rotate/Zoom." It is located in the "Layers" menu, or by pressing "Ctrl+Shift+Z"
  23. Simon Brown's Animated Image should allow you to save as gif Or you could download a program called "unFreeze"(I think) I'm not sure, but I think "Transparency threshold" is how see through the object is. As for Q3, I don't know...
  24. Is the new font showing up in other programs such as Microsoft Word? The Microsoft support site has a how to on installing fonts...might make sure you did it totally right? (Sorry if I sound obvious, but I've made stupid mistakes and missed steps before, so just checking ^_^)
