@Your first post, yes that should do it.
@Your second post, if you don't want transparency, save as a .BMP or a .JPG. They do not support transparency
But in general, save as .PNG's, they have highest quality.
-
The 'checkmarked area' as you referred to it is transparency. Fill it with white and you should be fine.
-
Totally new layout, what do you think of new pieces?
-
Yes very nice. As I said somewhere else, I like the mystical look on it. What about my sig?
-
Ehem, only two people commented on mine, I was the thirfd, I replied to Frontcannon. So...
-
Hahahahahaha. Never.
-
Sad you haven't been getting feedback on your gallery lately, the colors of your works - SOOOO PLEASING!!!
The sigs and avvies rock. Love them. Simple, but not too simple. Especially like your SOTW entry, post it here too.

Okay, thanks. IMHO what I wanted to fix wasn't so noticeable, so I guess it's fine.
-
So if I understood correctly, I can't tweak the original submission (i.e. change shadow) after I've submitted it?
-
Oops, accidentally flipped horizontally. I shall redo it. It is a WIP and the background is coming. I suppose I should've said that it is a work in progress. I am adding a newspaper, cereal and a cereal box, and more fruit to the bowl. And a background. So don't say that I need more, because I know it's incomplete, I just wanted to know how I was doing now.
About the shadow, how would I do it better?
I haven't added a shadow to the fruit bowl yet so it looks weird, I know that. I missed a spot with the flipping of the leg, thanks for pointing that out. Other than that, all your criticism seems to on things that I am still working on.

We're at 15 submissions.

What do you think of my signature?
And what of this piece:

Agree with Frontcannon, definitely a very very very nice abstract. The diagonal rows of glass marbles (that's what I will call them) are very nice and the look of the marbles is nice too. I especially like all the little details. They really add up. i.e. the subtle lighting. Color scheme is what I would call interesting. Once more, I agree with TPAM.
The colour scheme or colouring is very fitting without being too monotonous...
The overall look is very lively and energetic, though it could be regarded as florid or excessive.
I think it's a little too much with the overall look. A little too bright. But good work. 7.9/10

Yeah, my tut goes for the more natural look while yours in cartoony in a pleasant way. I like yours more than mine because it looks funner. Well, it matters how you're using the orange.
-
I see. Very nice. Now I want a sundae. Well, lucky for me, I'm working on a glass of milk right now on PdN, so I'll use it drown out the sweetness. And also some of the oranges that you made and that I made should fill me up quite well. There we are, digital dessert. And BTW, did you see my tut on oranges? See my sig if not.
-
Is bumping allowed on tuts? I think my tut is good and I just want others to enjoy it.
-
I like it. This piece really makes you think. As always, I might not always post here but I will be inspired. I think you have the best abstract pieces in PdN, welsh has the textures, Sozo has spacescapes, and lots of people have amazing realistic pieces.
-
Yes, use .png's. But if it's animated, .agif is the way to go, because not everyone uses Firefox or Opera.
-
Okay, duplicate layer is Ctrl-Shift-D
You don't need to save the layer, you can just save the whole thing (Ctrl-S) as a .agif file and it saves each layer as a frame of the animation. You should also see http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/index.html (The help file) and http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/KeyboardMouseCommands.html (Keyboard shortcuts).

Download Simon Brown's plugin pack here: http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30524
Place it under C:// > Program Files > Paint.Net > Effects (I believe that is the correct filepath). Restart Paint.Net. You should now have an option to save as a .agif in the Save dialog.
Open the file of the 'Donate' button. On a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+N), go to the gradient tool (
) and put it in linear gradient mode ( :LinearGradient: ). Set your primary color to white and your secondary to any color with an Alpha value of 0. Then switch to Transparency Gradient mode ( :AlphaChannel:
). Fade out the gradient on the edges to your liking. Save it as a .agif file when you're done.
Another alternative: Duplicate the layer of the button, go to Adjustments > Brightness and Contrast (Ctrl+Shift+C) and set it to make it darker. Then use a transparency gradient to fade it out on one side. Merge layer down. Now duplicate the layer. Go to Rotate/Zoom (Ctrl+Shift+Z) and rotate it 10-30 degrees. Repeat the process of duplicating and rotating until you rotated the layer to 360 degrees (If rotating by 10 degree intervals, you should have 35 layers. If by intervals of 20, you should have 17 layers plus one layer that has been rotated by 10 degrees. If rotating by 30 degree intervals, you should have 11 layers.) Save as a .agif and thats it.
Both of these should look fine.

Thanks so much Sarkut!!
That helped a ton, I hadn't realized that I had v. 1 instead of v1.7

Inspired by Aguba, 100% Paint.Net, no stocks, no other images.

Quad reshape matte whatever plugin doesn't work on 3.5.2?
