  1. I'm enjoying working with dents, it can make a lot of cool effects for things like your octopus! Although to be honest that was my second guess, my first was spider... But I do see it now.
  2. Nice work redfrogs. My favorite is the very first one. It's fascinating! I'll have to study it more to make a more helpful comment about what I like about it so much, but that's my favorite.
  3. really cool Tutorial. I'm going to have a solar system when I'm done wit these. (minus one of my planets... It exploded  ) Midgetalien, I really like your planet! I like the colors you chose, and the texture, the effect was, the 3D looks real, and good melding of two+ tutorials (with the rings & stars.)
  4. I came on this board a year and half ago (for the first time) and found this tut. I loved it and used it. I was actually looking for this one again when I came back and joined (more recently). So I just thought I'd say thanks, it's great, a lot of fun and I'm so glad it was stickied.
  5. Hey, great tut! I'm so glad you decided to download the whole thing. Lindsay, for your original picture I think my attention was drawn immediately to the eyes. I love what your effect does to the eye shadow, the lines of the eyes, and the whites of the eyes, although I think the iris color is a little prettier in the first, I might suggest bringing some of that color back (maybe cropping the irises from the original creating a new layer in the edit and pasting & making them really transparent, just to bring a little of that color back). But it looks really good the way you did it. Marken. Every entertaining. I love what you did with the hair and makeup.... The funny red spots on the face, maybe you could meld the two pics together to get rid up. Unless you like them, it does make me smile. I'll do one tonight when I get home if I can. This is exactly what I was looking for. I've been doing some of this, but I really like some of the steps you have, that I didn't.
  6. Thank you both. I know I'm running an old version, I actually thought it would ask me if I wanted to update when there was a newer version, but I haven't had it ask, that I can remember.
  7. One of the major things I've noticed is that it is important to have the newest version of paint.net, but for newbies, that's not always obvious. I read the rules and looked in FAQs and didn't see it there. You can "search" for it, but that's unreliable as several might come up and may not actually include the newest one. Is there somewhere that clearly tells us which version is the newest & (that is updated regularly). It would help keep us from making silly mistakes that will probably inadvertantly irritate those who have been around awhile. (Maybe having it in the rules would help?) Thanks for reading. Hope this is in the right place to post this.
  8. BoltBait this is an amazing plug-in pack. I'm really excited about the new Gaussian Blur effect, I love what it did with the picture you posted, and the feather option. (And I'm excited about testing the others as well.) Thanks!
  9. This was/is a great tutorial and so much fun! It's also IMO one of the most fun to just scroll through and see all of the amazing results! Nice work everyone. Some of the "planets" didn't turn out to look like exploding planets, and the were still really amazing.
  10. jerkfight, I like your use of colors in the picture. Green to some extent symbolizes nature, and it seems that there is green there, but it is being overshadowed by the yellow, which to me conveys a warning of danger, to life. Which is also seems to be overtly shown with the mask. That with a blackbackground really grabs the attention. I agree it arouses emotions, I would say the strongest of which is angst.
