  1. Alright guys, I've made my decision, although some of you will probably ... not like it. And becauase I myself am Chinese, the theme for the next SOTW is: Chinese New Years!
  2. Thanks Fire_Ants. I really liked yours too. (I voted for it) Simple yet powerful.
  3. Woah ... I won? Woot! Thanks everybody. I think Chinese New Years would be a great theme, but I'll wait to see if there are any other ones suggested that I like.
  4. QFT. I would make a super mini tut if more people want this, or I'll just pm to your guys later on. BTW, I'm guessing what QFT means. Someone might have to PM me if it means what I think it means?? I'd appreciate a PM! Oh and BTW, QFT stands for: Q uote F or T ruth Basically, it means "I agree."
  5. No effects? That's pretty awesome (as expected from Ash, so no surprise there). May I ask how you came up with that result?
  6. Very nice tourist! I like how you added the water drops on it, it goes along with the sea theme very well.
  7. Yes, I probably should have told you, seeing as how I broke the © and ®. :?
  8. Ahhh! We've been discovered! To the escape pods! (which will be powered by the flames from this tutorial) Helio has come to exact his revenge!
  9. A header for a site that I might make. (If I have time and am not too lazy ) EDIT: 100th post! Woooooooooooooooooooo
  10. Another fan? But, I have to admit: Best PDNer out there? No, I think Ash deserves that title. I can't even make good glass yet. :? But I consider myself pretty good. Glad you like my work!
  11. First I would paste both on separate layers with the rose above the heart. Then, use the magic wand tool at around 67% tolerance and select outside the heart. Go to the rose layer and hit delete. It might be a bit pixelated so use basic anti-alias.
  12. Look! It's a bird, it's a plane! No wait, it's my logo! Enjoy
  13. It's actually incredibly simple. Here's a hint: Rectangular to Polar conversion.
  14. It's sticky'd in the tutorials section: here
  15. The font is something like, "visitor", it can be found at Dafont. Use it at a fairly small size with anti-aliasing disabled to get it to look crisp and sharp. Glad you all liked my tut. Time to get to work on the blob clothing tut. (@salu)
  16. This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download it Tut requested by: cooldude2222 Ever wondered how to make a cool, awesome, Helio "Ignite" Sig©® (copyrighted AND trademarked, oh yeah!)? Well, i do too. Naw, just kidding. But I can teach you how! (kind of) Just follow these steps to create your very own Helio "Ignite" Sig©®. Notice: Step 3 is a little ... unusual. Hopefully you'll get it. Which you will. Cause you're not dumb. I think. Anyways, lets begin. 1.Make a new canvas 500 x 100, and fill it with black. 2.Add a new layer and call it White Flame. 3.Start near the right of the canvas at around (385,50). Using a white paintbrush at a width of 20 pixels, click once. Move your cursor 5 pixels over using the arrow keys, lower the pixel width by 1 using the '[' key, and click once again. Keep doing this until your pixel width goes down to ten. 4.Gaussian Blur at 3 pixels. Motion Blur at 180 degrees and 5 distance. 5.Use a transparency gradient to make the "tail" of the white flame a little transparent. This part of the flame will be the central glow, the brightest and hottest part of the flame. 6.Add a new layer below the White Flame layer and call it Cyan Flame. 7.Repeat steps 3-6, except using 00BBFF as your primary color, and starting width a width of 25 pixels. (Yes, I'm that lazy that I don't want to retype out those steps) 8.Gaussian Blur at 3, Motion Blur at 180 degrees and 25 distance. (keep 'Centered' checked) This will be the middle-ish glow, the transition from the white hot flame to the blue flames. 9.Add a new layer below the Cyan Flame layer and call it Blue Flame. 10.Repeat steps 3-6, except using 001B9A as your primary color, starting with a width of 25 pixels, and starting at (350,50). (Lazy again) 11.Gaussian Blur at 3, Glow at 20 Radius, 10 Brightness, 90 Contrast. 12.Apply a transparency gradient to the tip of the blue flame's tail. 13.You may have to resize the blue flame (vertically) to make it taper away from the white and cyan flames better. This is the blue, outer "section" of the flame. 14.On a new layer named Tail placed below the Blue Flame layer, draw a line from (310,50) to (125,50) with a width of 7 pixels. 15.Gaussian Blur at 3 pixels, and use a transparency gradient to make it fade away. 16.Use Dents at about these values: Scale - 40 Amount - 30 Quality - 2 Detail - 10 Roughness - 50 Turbulence - 10 Stretch Amount - 15 Stretch Angle - 0 And add a glow: 20, 75, 10 And you are done! Congratulations! Bravo! Good work! I'll stop now! (ok then ...) I know this doesn't give exact results, but it is pretty close. Now just add a gradient, crescent thingy, reflection, border and text. Simple things that you (hopefully) should know, so I won't bother with them in this tutorial. And this was my end result: *ok, fine, this was actually my first experiment, but I was too tired to do the screens for the tut AND the final product again, even though the one in the tut looks MUCH better IMO.
  17. I guess I could just give basics like shading and stuff so you can make your own line of clothes for your blobs. How does that sound? :o
