JPEG is not a lossless format. If you are looking for a lossless format, try PNG.
It's not, but certain operations can be performed losslessly. See this.

I suppose this could be implemented somehow with a filetype plugin instead, but I'm unsure about this part as I have never written a filetype plugin before.
That's not what FileType plugins are designed to do, so it would probably be removed. The only type of plugin that could achieve this would be an external program, although that wouldn't be very convenient to use.
Plugins also can't create alpha layers, but there are a lot of alpha mask plugins. I suggest going for channel mask.

To be able to install v3.5.5 you need to get SP3. The installer probably failed because of this.

If I don't close it immediately, consider the time until I do a grace period.
The object of this competition is to design a laptop. Netbooks count, internet tablets don't.
Rules:
-
The deadline is four days after the 4th entry is posted.
- Image must be created with Paint.NET
- Stock must be linked to.
- If you want to create parts of your entry in other programs, upload it separately and link to it as if it were stockt
- Images must not have been published before, although psuedo-stock can.
- Feel free to edit your entry, but only post one.
- This thread is for entries only, discuss the competition in this thread.

I'll look into it.

For transferring images to GIMP you might want to use the PSD plugin instead.

CMS has won

Not that I know of. Have you tried viewing it in Firefox or Opera?
-
-
Can you link to these plugins?
-
Yeah, he's well-known in the PDN community. IIRC he's selling an old (when Paint.NET was FOSS but a Cathedral) version of Paint.NET, but with closed-source plugins.
-
There's one in his sig.
-
Also are you using the latest version of Paint.NET.
-
Options to try:
- PixelMator (Not sure whether freemium or payware)
- Acorn (Freemium)
- Krita (Open-source)

Secondly, when I save a file that contains a period in its name (for example "ch2.p16" - chapter 2, page 16), it will save the file but not in the format selected. Instead, Paint.net assumes that anything after the period is the file extension. Thus, the file is saved as "ch2.p16" with a file type of "p16".
Save it as ch2.p16.bmp. Note that that will still save the file as the format selected from the dropdown list.

Also, if you insert your Windows/OEM disk, there'll probably be an option to repair corrupted system files.

So, I'm in with this:

Just write your own Clamp function
Shorter version (not tested either):
static byte ClampToByte(int input) { return (byte)Math.Max(Math.Min(input, 255), 0); }

You could try reading an article on editing themes to see if you can replace that glass replacement, but I don't think it's possible to disable Paint.NET's main window "glass" short of turning aero off or applying a shim.
-
Do you mean the uxtheme type?
I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but Window->Translucent toggles the client-area glass.

The Castle s SplitImage is software for dividing an image into multiple parts for use on web pages. Divide an image into any number of resizable rows and columns. You can also create Sub Documents (ie. tables within tables). The program will auto-generate the HTML code for tables and split the image file into separate images for each table cell.
An image map is like that, only the image doesn't have to be split-up.
Idea: Win7 Mouseover integration

If you add this feature, please provide a way to turn it off. It makes it a pain to switch to and from Blender (which doesn't use it, but is still grouped because of the command prompt) and Opera (before I found a way to disable it). I know I could use Alt+Tab, but that can be a pain if I have a lot of windows open.
