  1. Oh, right! I didn't know that! Is there some way it can be implemented for mouse users?
  2. No no, I've used Flash at school with a mouse, and if you move the mouse slower, it makes the line wider than it would be if you moved the mouse quickly. 'Sgood...
  3. Second, I really like the art style that can be achieved with it.
  4. I'm working on it buddy... .:EDIT:. Done! It'll be posted in the next update, which I hope is final, or contains a big improvement... .:EDITED EDIT:. W00t 200 posts! :mtdew:
  5. I think that the recently proposed "default effects only" is a great idea! You can see all the n00bs create their stuff in the tutorial forum (unfortunately...), but now we can see what the pros come up with!
  6. @ Tillerman: I was actually hoping to do something like a planet with some land, text isn't really my thing, but thanks anyway! @ Ash: I'm working on it as I type. Thanks for the comments! .:EDIT:. Done! http://phillipsj2.deviantart.com/art/Space-image-v1-2-67418029
  7. Thanks! I'm glad you like it! To be honest, I'm at a bit of a loose end as to what to do in the bottom-left hand corner. Can anyone help?
  8. I thought I'd repost this as an image, not a link, as I know images get more comments... Here we go: If you want the link, as I know some screens can't show the whole image due to size and resolution, here it is: http://fc01.deviantart.com/fs21/f/2007/288/a/b/Space_image_v1_2_by_PhillipsJ2.png
  9. @ Annie: That's really nice, but it needs a bit more light in...
  10. @ Ncfan: How can you not like that? It's great! I love the contrast between the shiny-ness of the background and the gritty font. It's just so nice. Here's what I've been working on for a while now. It's not quite finished though... It needs something in the bottom-left corner... Enjoy!
  11. I second that request. It would be good for those badly taken photos of brilliant subjects. BTW, is that a Welsh Terrier in the photo?
  12. Wow, I am loving the colours in that starfield! How did you do the planet in YAPS? It's amazing!
  13. Well, that's the best thing about an image editor with PdN's features, and ease of use! You can't really make serious additions in something like Photoshop, as it is too hard for the average user, and you can't change images in MS Paint, unless you want to draw a square, or an ugly, aliased, jaggy line... Actually, I want to go on and put more into the picture, but I'm inspiration-less... I want to put in a good-looking planet, but I can't work out how to do it. I know I need to use S3D to make the sphere, but I can't seem to make a good texture... Can anyone help?
  14. Thanks. That was an effect of my own devising (sort of). I made a new layer, set it to glow and used clouds with a primary colour of black, and a secondary colour with 0 Alpha.
  15. Thanks for the link. I made this with it: Nice huh? I guess this takes the place of my plugin, unless anyone wants to make it... Thanks for the help guys!
  16. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could create a plugin that can generate a random starfield, somewhat like this, or, more likely, a scaled down version: Would this feature be possible to implement into the plugin: it is possible to set "magnets" whereby a clump of stars are created around or near the attractor? Thanks, Josh
  17. Are you having trouble installing the plugin? Extract the .dll file that you downloaded to the folder C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects. This may sound difficult or annoying, but you will be able to do it in no time. And, don't just give up now. PdN is probably the best, certainly the most user-friendly free image program out there, and definitely with one of the most thriving communities (and here we are!). If you ever need help, please feel free to ask me, one of the mods, who will be happy to help, or post on the board, as long as it complies with The Rules. Welcome to what I hope will be a long and happy stay in the PdN community.
  18. I am very sorry for "necroposting", but I have this strong urge to let the masses know of this wonderful tutorial. Another great job Ash!
  19. How would a possible plugin work? I don't see it happening without direct access to the canvas; which plugins can't do.
  20. Hmm... If the algorithm is there, then surely, it wouldn't be an impossible feat to incorporate it into a tool or plugin...
  21. I saw PdN mentioned in PC Advisor magazine as a "superb free photo editor".
  22. Sorry, I was a bit heavy-handed there... That was harsh... Please, don't mind me... Give your opinion if you want to.
  23. Don't be cruel Ash, Hurdofchris's planet looks really good... How did you do it, Chris?
