  1. Sounds fair enough... I wish there was a place to send those who are excessively n00by/think that this is a forum for some excessively violent video game populated by excessively violent-wannabe 13-16 year olds... Now, that would be a good deterrent!
  2. Hurrah! Mind you, from the amount of tellings off noobs get currently from not reading the rules, what are the chances they'll read this?
  3. @ Everyone who posted comments: Thanks guys, I'm really glad you like it, it took me over two months from start to finish, and over 6 months or so, if you count other versions. (I did another before; a couple of months before the advent of Shape3D!). Thanks for the comments! @ Bob: For the background, I used a slightly modified version of this: http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3242&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=starfield+with+colour. For the lens flare, I lifted it from The Gimp's FlareFX and there's a tut for the big gaseous planet in the making. It'll be up one day... Shall I PM you when it's up? @ Wither: Thanks for the comment, and yeah, I know... The gaseous planet is a bit jaggy, the Antialias plugin seemed to not be able to do anything about that... Thanks for the comments guys!
  4. I've tried the new beta, and I must say, it is astounding! I love the new UI; it's so much more powerful than the previous one!
  5. I've finally finished my space picture! Clicky to go see the big version! Woot!
  6. Practise practise practise, practise practise practise practise practise practise... *gasp* Practise practise practise, practise. Recurring...
  7. Second. That's a great idea. It would give the n00bs a place to go, it would give the more advanced users a better experience vis a vis tutorials, and, unlike the "rep" idea, it's feasible!
  8. Or, to save the mods time and expense, bearing in mind they have jobs and lives(?), there could just be a limit on the amount of "rep" you can give/take away from one user per day/week.
  9. Mind you, it could lead to "rep spamming", whereby someone's reputation is dropped by a significantly large amount of points by some angry dude, wanting revenge for that tutorial involving Zoom blur and polar inversion...
  10. Yeah, I know... I was just kidding. I've read rule 19: I was only joking... I was actually wondering how quick the response would be... 'Twas rather fast...
  11. It's a shame the mods can't just delete a thread... That way, the problem would be solved! Assuming the mods don't randomly go on a deleting spree...
  12. Wow! This is good! I'm not sure what your first one looks like, it's not like the results in that the first picture looks more like a really complex, blue rock structure (or if you change the hue and saturation, a really gnarled piece of root ginger!). Great job! :mtdew:
  13. Seventh-ed or so. This would be great to see, and make it much more intuitive to use two colours for drawing.
  14. I have a suggestion Rick: how's about being able to change the position of the rendered fractals in the new fractal renderers? It would be very useful for fractal work, and it is a feature I'm sure many would like to see.
  15. I reckon something useful. If people like the result enough then it can be turned into an actual theme
  16. Look at This (sic) You'll be excited if you haven't already seen it! It makes the option Andrew mentions open...
  17. Wow! Sweet! Hey, it's coming out December the 15th! That's not long! Cam we call it a Christmas present?
  18. Second. That would be cool, and probably confuse some of the n00bier n00bs...
  19. Don't worry about it; we were all new some time. But, I'm sure at least 90% of the forum will agree with me insofar as all newbies should read The Rules. You can't miss them! Enjoy your stay in the forums! P.S. When you say "Lightening", do you mean: Or
  20. @ CommanderSozo: Please, please, please tell me how you did that planet! Please! I have been trying to finish my space picture off for months, but I just can't work it out! That is exactly what I need to finish it! Please, help me, then I can die (or upload the final version) happy!
  21. :? Iz confused... I can't say I speak mathematics... What's their practical function, and what's the difference between them and a regular curve? @ Ghost Ranger: I like the sound of that, it would be really very handy.
  22. @ The Void: Don't worry about using renders or not, it doesn't matter to most. It's if you like it, and how much you enjoyed doing it that counts!
