  1. Or he could sit there forever typing in each and every permutation. Or just hack it. Or sell it on.

  4. People might flame the iPod and iTunes for a lot of things but it's one of the best examples of software/hardware interfacing on the common market today. I've had more trouble getting a USB flash drive to "talk" to my PC than I have my iPod.

  8. I suppose that's a little problematic... All it means is that Microsoft can make a packet selling IE8 discs as an "add-on" to Windows 7. Not really huzzah, come to think about it. Can't say about Safari though: the EU have always hated Microsoft.

  10. I know, I read the BBC Have Your Say pages for fun. Those guys can turn any discussion into a pean for their love of fascism, and wax lyrical on how anything other than a government that is devoted to the death penalty for anyone whose family has not been a citizen the country since the Ice Age is Communist. It's scarily hilarious.

  12. My rant: the people in the comments at the bottom of this. Whatever Almighty! The woman's dead. Whether it's part of some deity's great and ineffable plan or just a tragic accident, she's died in a horribly ironic circumstance and it's disgusting that people are using this as a platform to posture and spout whatever they have been taught, be it atheist or theist. Mind you, this dude is For The Win. Now that is an enlightened comment from a religious person on the subject of life and death. For a *facedesk* moment, look at what a woman called Laura said, and another androgynous person called Lin. I don't mean to be rude, but you'd think that people who've grown up with a tradition, any tradition but in this case, Christianity, might know just something about it. Or maybe it's the other way around: tradition leads to stagnation and denial of reason.

  14. Gracias amigo. On an unrelated note, I am never obliged to use French again!

  16. Is there a good free music sequencing program out there that uses good ol' staff notation? Something along the lines of Sibelius would be what I'm looking for.

  18. KillerK, being in the middle of the GCSEs right now, I can tell you that that's no feat to crow about. Sorry to burst your bubble, but everyone from my great-grandmother to the woodpecker that keeps me awake all bloody night could do that. What I object to about news like this kid is that nobody takes into account the difference between knowledge, what one knows, and intelligence, what one can do with what is available. Knowledge can get you into many high places, but only intelligence and the ability to think creatively is what keeps you there.

  20. RANT: Britain's now represented on the international stage by a fascist party. .:EDIT:. And, confusingly, one who want out of the same international stage, the EU. UKIP, confusing, no?
