Did someone say "zombie"?
It's basically clouds and blending modes. Doing what you're talking about can be accomplished in many different ways...play around with layer blending modes and different colors to figure out what you're looking for.

I would love help doing something like this. I've been wishing I can do stuff like that ever since I started with Paint.NET...and I gave up on it cause I thought I needed brushes. If someone could code something like that, I would probably have to give them serious props.

Good stuff k.d! I'm a fan.
@D.C: hurry up with the hair, man! I'm tired of seeing that dude half-bald!

I had two brains once, one got lost and the other left to look for him.
Valentine's Day = cards, candy, jewelry, little fluffy dolly blech yeck, feigning insincere sentiments ...
Well...I like it.
Here's MineNo stock , only 35 layers
The Love Chip?!? Brilliant!

splashes, spirograph & spiroshapes are two different plugins, sinwaves, kaleidogen & kaleidoscope are two different plugins as well.
I don't know about sparkles however, I have sparkles and sparkles_glitter.
Thank you for your answer, it is much appreciated; but, in my question, splashes has nothing to do with spirograph & spiroshapes, same goes for sinwaves, it has nothing to do with kaleidogen & kaleidoscope in my question either.
[off topic]Nice sig
Sorry, I was listing by using commas. My bad.
Madjik answered it for me.

Agreed. That's some good stuff! Mind if I ask how you got the shapes to twist?
i was kinda thinking the same thing, and that came from TLh
Take off, hoseheads! I was asking about the shapes, not the twist!
There was a small part of me that held out hope that it wasn't a pre-rendered fractal...

wow. love the colors!

Looks like a home made palm tree.
Homemade palm tree!

I'll step-by-step you through it in a sec.
EDIT: PM'd.

Maybe I should use the image I posted for Valentine's Day last year...
It uses polar inversion...

Eh...not so much. There's like three comps, right? Imho there wouldn't be enought reason to justify it's own section. :?

When you draw lines, right-click on the nubs and drag to change it to a bezier curve. I have no idea what that is...it just looks better.

Congrats to aile!
As to the theme...don't really care. You provide the theme, I'll provide the entry.

Personally, I disagree. At first use, trying to figure how to select your desired color range takes way too long. I think Conditional Hue/Sat makes the whole color range selection thing way more discoverable. Please keep the UI as it is, it's very easy to work with and different then Con/Hue/Sat.Once you get past that, this plugin is one of the best plugins ever...just to be clear.
I concur. I like Conditional Hue/Sat's UI...like barkbark00 mentioned, good stuff. That being said, it's your plugin and you are free to do whatever you like with it. Beggars can't be choosers...we're just lucky to have it!

Well that's kind of disappointing...the site was down for a day and I fully expected to see a new category when I browsed here today...
The site wasn't down for maintenance, it was down because Forumer was broken, again. We couldn't get in either.
Yeah...I guess I just hoped...
*sniff*

im working on my portrait skills these were both free handed, wat do you think?

Adrian Monk (from the show monk(lol i was watching it at the time))
^^^^^
This is a count Dracula type picture. it could use a nose job.
If the vampire himself didn't scare me...the nose would. Yeesh! Work on that! Monk is cool though.

I have not posted in awhile but I do come by to see everyone's work. I tried for awhile to draw with my wacom but I find it easier to just use the mouse. It is getting easier with practice. Still working on the hands.
Nicely done!

Very good cjmc! Too bad it got bottom-of-the-page unluckiness...

New Av/Sig combo...figured Christmas was over, so...

Yes already, there is a moderator-only board...
I knew it!
I know that some people are worried that the Galleria would be all Ash, bb00, Helio, and Madjik...but I say hey, if they make all the cool images, so be it! I don't want my images included in the new Galleria because I made a good effort or something like that...I want it to actually mean something.
My two cents. Or pence...or rubies...or whatever.

Try gradient bars and then oil painting at max settings. I used that trick in this:
