  1. Um... Sorry if I was unclear. I think that there is definitely room for improvement with the Firefox Add-Ins section of the application, but it's certainly something. I realize that the Paint.Net plugins are managed on a forum, but if you look at how the Firefox Add-ins section of their website is handled, it is organized. It's easy to find an add-in. I routinely read tutorials, and if a link to the necessary plugins isn't provided, cannot even find these plugins... If a new version of a plugin is released, I have no way of even knowing unless I remember when I installed the old version. There are some absolutely INCREDIBLE plugins out there (It's astounding what some of the plugin authors have been able to do). I find a really good one every now and then. But they're soooo hard to find. They're not very discoverable. Maybe if there was an index of all plugins and a description of what they do (Along with links to the download location)? I don't know. I'm kind of curious what others thoughts are. I hope that explains better.
  2. I apologize if I misunderstood Gladi8or2's response, but it certainly came off as cocky to me (I'm sorry if that was incorrect). As I've been attacked on this forum in the past, I may have jumped too fast. Having read and reread that thread, I still do not think that it covers what I'm talking about, but whatever... I see people mention plugins in posts that I then cannot even find in the Plugins Forum. That frustrates me. The organization just isn't there. The only thing covered in that "Popular Feature Requests" thread was the ability to edit the Plugins Menu within Paint.Net. Though that would be a wonderful addition to the application (As there are so many plugins, and some aren't put into the appropriate sub-menus on their own), it IMO does not go far enough. I have been using Paint.Net and going through the forums for years and can't find plugins. I simply cannot imagine a newbie coming into this program and having any way of rationalizing the plugin system. As much as I would like something like this to make its way into Paint.Net, I think it is far more valuable in order to get new users to be able to easily adopt use of Paint.Net. Just my thoughts. I apologize if it's a bit ranty...
  3. Thank you for your smart < no swearing > response, but if you read, my question was different from what is discussed in that thread. Thanks anyway though.
  4. I have been using Paint.Net for quite some time, and absolutely love the program and all the plugins. I like Paint.Net better than Photoshop to be honest (Which I also have for an unknown reason... ). I was wondering though if there were any plans to integrate some sort of Plugin Management into the application in the future (Something similar to Firefox's Add-In's Section maybe?). I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were. I find it difficult to find plugins and once installed, manage them on my computer. I like the way the Firefox Add-in's website and the application section handle all of this. Maybe a way to better organize the plugins in the Plugin Menu as well (I have seen this mentioned before on the forums. I think by Rick actually). That would be very nice. This isn't a post to complain, I was just curious what everyone thought. Is it just me? Thanks.
  5. I love this program, but there is one thing that I can't seem to figure out how to do. Is it possible to select a color, and have all pixels that are that color changed to transparent (Or to another color)? This would be very helpful, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Thanks Again, any help is greatly appreciated.
  6. That's understandable. From what has been told to me, it sounded like a lot of work to get PDN to be able to open vector graphics images. This would be a great feature if it was ever implemented though. Out of curiosity, does anyone happen to know of another application that can open any of these file formats? (For me specifically .fla files)? I've had absolutely no luck finding anything else that can do this. I don't know if Raphie has had any luck... Thanks,
  7. I'm sorry, but I had to post to say how cool that orb you made is DecemberWinds... How did you create that? It is really nice. I'd love to see a tutorial on something like that. Beautiful work. Thanks,
  8. Hello and thank you very much for your responses. I will try that Aurora Tutorial today if I have time. I downloaded the Chaoscope application, and wow is that complicated... I'm going to have to spend some quality time reading up on it. Hopefully there are some good tutorials on their site (There are some GREAT examples of what it can do...). I thought maybe this could be done in Paint.Net, but I will try my hand at Chaoscope. Paint.Net should get together with the folks at Chaoscope to integrate it into PDN for a future release... That would be cool. I tried to resize the image, but they're links from Microsoft's site, so I can't see a way to resize them in the forums. I didn't upload them or anything, as they're kind of Microsoft's property and I wasn't sure if that would be O.K... Thanks Again.
  9. This is something I would really find useful as well. Maybe this could just be added to one of the current Zoom Plugins, or would it need to be a new plugin? I'm sorry Madjik, but your description really lost me (but I appear to be easily confused... lol). Thanks,
  10. O.K., I thought they were similar to the other file formats being discussed, sorry... So is what I discussed possible then? It seems silly to buy Flash (A ridiculously expensive program) for such limited use. I don't expect to be able to edit .fla files, as it's already been explained to me that they are based on mathematical shapes (vectors), whereas Paint.Net is based on pixels. I would just like to be able to convert these files to other file types at different sizes (such as .png, .jpg, .bmp, etc.). Just curious. If you have another suggestion, please let me know. Thanks,
  11. This would be a nice feature to be made available via plugin or otherwise. Would this support opening files of the .fla file format? I run across these all the time, and don't need to edit them or anything. I would just like to save them as a .png file of a specified size, etc... This would be very helpful. Thanks,
  12. I have been using PDN for a while now, and am absolutely amazed at what it is capable of (In the right hands...). I have read through a lot of the tutorials, and they have been tremendously helpful, but I haven't found one that has answered this questions, so I wanted to ask. I really like the look of these graphics Microsoft made, and was wondering if or how I would make something similar in PDN. I would really appreciate some help, as I think they are VERY nice. I'm sorry for the LARGE images, but I didn't know how I could resize them... Thank you very much,
  13. O.K., this is the first thing I've ever really posted. It's not great. I couldn't figure out how to make good stars... Anyway, here it is...
  14. Oops. I must have downloaded the plugin the day before that was released... I never thought that there could have been a newer version so soon... lol... Thanks,
  15. Oh, One final question I think. Is if possible to change the colors of the Fractal Mandelbrot design? I set the canvas to red, but when I ran the Fractal Mandelbrot Plugin it still created a blue / green image... Thanks,
  16. Thank you very much for your response moc426, I downloaded those plugins and will try to make something up. It is amazing what some folks on these forums can create. I hope to be able to do something like that one day and will definitely post it (Assuming it's reasonably good... lol). Thanks Again for your response.
  17. This is a really cool plugin, I look forward to playing around with this further. The only question I have, having played with it for about an hour is, "How do you do something like this example you posted with this plugin?" I can't seem to get it to do anything like this... Thanks for a very interesting plugin,
  18. Hello, I downloaded this plugin, and it is astounding!! This is some of the best work I have ever seen. I would like to thank everyone involved, this must have been a tremendous amount of work... The only question I have is, I can't seem to get the image on the side of the shape that I want. For example, if I select Cylindar and only select the Bottom (As I want the image on the bottom), nothing shows up. How do I get the image on the bottom? I am having a similar problem with the sphere. How do I get the entire image to show up on the sphere, as opposed to just a portion of the image? I apologize if these questions have already been addressed, I read the tutorial, and a good bit of this thread, and didn't see anything about this. Thanks Again,
  19. Wow, that is very interesting and informative. Thank you very much. People keep giving me these FLA files and I don't know what to do with them...lol. Thanks Again, -Matt-
  20. Oh... Thank you very much for the information. I would rather not give Adobe any of my cash if I can help it...lol... I thought these were just image files. I didn't realize they were for animation (And I don't know what vector graphics are). Thanks Again, -Matt-
  21. Sorry. So, does anyone have any idea why this is? 3.0.8 seems to have improved slightly. Thanks
  22. I'm honestly not sure what graphics program creates .FLA Files (If anyone knows, please let me know), but they are graphics files, and I would like to be able to open and edit them. Is there a way to get Paint.Net to handle these files? Thanks.
  23. I noticed this with the first release of Paint.Net 3, and it has persisted through the service updates. I was wondering first, if anyone else is having this problem, and second if anyone knew of a way to correct it. Paint.Net takes a very long time to open saveFileDialogs, and then when the item is saved Using Save As, it takes a looong time (Several minutes for a 3.24 kb Png Image). I am using 3.0.7 and still have this problem. The application isn't locking up after saving, as it isn't until the tail end of the program locking up that the file appears. This does not occur for me if I simply do a "Save" as opposed to a "Save As", so I've been using this as a workaround, but I find the Save As Dialog much more useful, as I am usually opening Master Files and saving changes as Use Files. Any help or information is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
  24. O.K., I've tried using this plugin, but nothing happens. What are the instructions and process for using it? It looks like a really cool plugin, I just for whatever reason can't get it to work. Thanks,
