I think there's a way to shut off doctor watson, I read it in a book...
-
Err... the canvas size option or the rectangle select tool can do the trick...
If you just use the Rectangle Select you will have a hard time getting say an exact 1600x1200 pixel selection area. Also once you get the selection to the right size you would want to be able to move it around slightly to get the perfect frame.
You can use the move selection tool...

Trickman, way to be critical without being helpful...His idea sounded fine to me. I guess it just matters what you need it to look like.
Sorry, I was in a rush
There's something in GIMP called Color2Alpha, which for example, if you had a grey pixel and you wanted white to be alpha, then the grey pixel would turn black with transparency.

PdN files can only be opened with Paint.NET
Everything else can be opened with any image editor which supports the file type.
-
If you want to get rid of the white, [sHIFT] + Magic Wand -> [DELETE] should do it for you. If you mean make the image itself transparent, put it on a new layer above all other layers, and turn the layer's opacity down to about 50.
That isn't the exact solution...
-
Sounds like an outofmemmory problem...
-
o.O I don't understand the 5th step...
Anyway, dthat doesn't happen to me...
Try saving as a transparent PNG...

Its not clear to me how the HSV fade works?? I see the results, but what exactly does it do?
Yeah, could you do a simple tut for us non-advanced users?
-
If you have filled in the whole effects list, then this happens...
Any way to bypass this?
EDIT: Oops, wrong forum... sorry.

Yeah, your plugins (and Illnab's) rule!
Speaking of them, could you create a plugin to automaticly do things like this:
-
Save as a .PDN (Paint.NET) file.
-
This already happens with all effects...
-
oh yeah I thought you were wanting to turn some part of the photo into B&W.
-
Oh. OK then.
-
Open multiple Images and change the first and another image.
Then save the first but don't save the other
The dialog window won't appear.
(Sorry, but I'm in a rush right now. Bye)

You can use the Conditional Hue/Saturation plugin.
-
WOW! This rules!!
-
use the search function. This was already asked many times before.

Like what, exactly? I don't see anything wrong with SP2. You can kill the security service through spybot, if you wish.
Oh yeah? If I installed SP2 on my sister's pc, then my internet wouldn't work somehow.
