  1. Just had a thought (rare, I know): If you want to use any of the filetypes that are in the \Bundled folder, do you have to move them to \FileTypes folder? Brian
  2. Something like this? Effects > Distort > Image Distortion... Brian
  3. Been trying to use this plug-in. Where do I find Height Maps, or where can I download them from, please? Brian
  4. Diamond Painting seems to be a "paint by numbers" method of applying diamond-like coloured crystals to a canvas. I suppose the canvas has to have some adhesive on it first. Maybe the question should have been: Has anyone done a "Paint by Numbers" style of plug-in that could be used for that purpose? Which would be a fair question . . . Brian
  5. Ardneh, Well, I never! Open in New Tab worked just fine. I will remember that one . . . Pixey, If I was given the choice of Norton or throw away my PC, the PC would be out of the window! Thanks to all for your help - what wonderful people on this forum Brian
  6. Pixey, Well, I've just managed to download the Edge Shader update with no problem - it's just the Clock Plugin that's pesky. I checked my Downloads, thanks, but I was certain it wouldn't be there. I have been using PCs since before DOS 3, so I have a pretty good understanding of them by now (that ages me, doesn't it!) Once spent a week in Florida near you, at Clearwater Beach. I should have called for a cuppa, but instead I had to go find a dentist, as I had a raging toothache (and that cost me a pretty penny!) Brian
  7. Hello, I've been trying to download the Clock Plugin to have a go, and I don't seem to be getting anywhere. Any ideas? Brian
  8. Many thanks to those who answered my S O S - I got there in the end with Paste Warp+ Brian
  9. Thanks for all your help so far. The desired effect is to make it look like a curved piece of railway line. Not a sharp bend, just a gradual curve Brian
  10. Hmm - I don't seem to be able to download either. And Point Warp doesn't seem to work correctly with 4.xx Any more ideas? Brian
  11. Thank you, NSD - I will try it now Brian
  12. Hello, I created 'Straight long.gif' using PDN, and now I want to put a slight curve in it, something like 'bend.gif' Unfortunately, I deleted my originally saved PDN file, because I thought I had finished with it. Big mistake! Do we have a plug-in that will do a task like that, or am I going to have to start from scratch again? Thanks for any help, Brian
  13. That's the one! Many thanks. I had forgotten that you could apply the effect to an object, as well as text Brian
  14. Help! A while ago I was testing some plugins, and came across one which filled shapes, etc, with fantastic colours - gold, chrome, brass, animal skin colours, etc, and for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. That's if I still have it. Thank you for any ideas! I'm trying to replicate railway lines, so a bit darker on the outside, where it rusts, and shiny metal on the inside Brian
  15. Well, the menus look almost the same, icons and floating windows. Even requires .Net to run. But after messing with Pinta, PDN seems well superior BTW, have you actually tried Pinta, just for curiosity? Brian
  16. I was just idling my way round the 'net, and I came across a picture editor called Pinta - https://www.pinta-project.com/ I installed it to see what it was about, and was amazed to see there was a startling resemblance to PDN. Is there some link between the two? Brian
  17. Gotcha! Thanks, Pixey. I am really trying to get to grips with PDN - sometimes the sequences don't always make sense to me Another one is the Clone Stamp. I've read the Help File, followed it correctly (I thought), but it still evades me. Keep trying... Brian
  18. Duh! Try as I might, I can't get the Invert menu option to light up. I have got the black box on a new layer. Please tell me how to select the black box and make it active Brian
  19. Remake, Thank you so much - you were right! The offending plugins were in the Documents\paint.net App Files\Effects folder. I shall take more care next time I install Plugins Brian
  20. Hi, Can anyone explain why I have got two entries in my menus for some items? For example, in Effects > Tools, I have two entries for Grid Warp..., Liquify..., Smudge... and Twist... As far as I can see, there is only one DLL for each of these functions. Does make the listings rather long! Many thanks, Brian
  21. Thank you - that rings a bell! I will look at Inkscape, then Brian
  22. Hi, I remember when at work watching our artists create some display text with FreeHand, converting the text to paths (or outlines), which then enabled them to modify the characters separately. They could also fill the shapes with colour or shading, or even fill the background with a picture Has any Plugin been written to do that, or am I not looking in the right place! Many thanks, Brian
  23. Many thanks for your suggestion. The picture was far too "busy" to do any meaningful selection with the wand, but I got there in the end, using layers Brian
  24. Any ideas? I have a picture of a mountain biker coming through woods. There is a lot of greenery. I would like to make all the greenery, trees, etc, as greyscale, but leave the mountain biker as is, with all his coloured top, shorts, helmet and bike, etc Many thanks for any ideas, Brian
