Wither 13
http://forum.crystalxp.net/index.php?showtopic=4234 I know there are dozens of 'glass button' tutorials. But I just stumbled upon this Photoshop tutorial that has the most gorgeous glass buttons I've ever seen! Reading through it, I sort of understand it. And I totally see how it would be done in Photoshop... but this isn't the case with Paint.NET. It relies very heavily on Photoshop's Adjustment Layers and such. I happen to be fortunate enough to own a copy of Photoshop, so that's not really the problem. But I'd love so much to see this kind of quality done with PdN. (Which, sadly, may not be possible. ) --- I'm going to keep toying around with it myself. But I figured I'd post this to see if it sparks inspiration in anyone. I'm thinking you could rig up most of it with Gradient Mapping and Curves. But I haven't had a chance to really try it yet as it's quite late and I'm just heading off to bed. Good luck to you all. I'm sure if we put our heads together we can break this thing!... But not now. I'm too sleepy. --- Edit: Grr... I hate having PdN induced insomnia... Here's my first real crack at it. The only thing I can't quite get is giving the rims are sense of depth. Quote YouTube | Myspace | deviantART
barkbark00 3
It's not exact but the quality is fine... 110% Paint.NET Quote Take responsibility for your own intelligence. -Rick Brewster

barkbark00 3
I think you mean... We Want Tut !We Want Tut ! We Want Tut ! We Want Tut ! We Want Tut ! We Want Tut ! We Want Tut ! Anyway, It's real simple (the rim part). Open a new image. Draw a vertical gradient (white on top). Use the Ellipse Selection tool to select a circle in the center of the canvas. Invert the selection and delete the background. Center the remaining circle using the Align Object plugin. Radial blur the circle with default settings. Duplicate the layer and use Rotate/Zoom to make the top circle about 95% smaller than the bottom circle. Flip the top layer vertically. Now, just use Curves(+) on the bottom layer to get the desired highlights/shadows. Then, use the same/similar Curves settings on the top layer. Wither 13
Ooo. That's good too, cjmc. The biggest thing I wanted out of this was the rim. The sense of depth was just gorgeous. Now that I know how to do that, we're all good to go. Thanks bb00! Quote YouTube | Myspace | deviantART
